20 years later and I’m still thinking about it…

Luckily there were only material damages, and only minor injuries if any, I would have remembered any casualties.

Way back in 2006 the building next to the one I lived in caught fire. Because it was old wood structures, fairly close together, everyone had to evacuate.

At one point a firefighter came out on the French balcony at the third floor of the building they were putting out, smoke billowing around them, and a waterfall pouring around their feet down on to the street below, it was epic. In the commotion I remembered to save my laptop, but the camera was sitting at my desk throughout the event…

That’s some impressive progress! I’m sorry I didn’t catch this update before now.

This makes me think it should be possible to use an arduino due (which has a proper DAC) to send a custom calibration when the scanner expects it. It might even be feasible to add a transistor to the ground path of the LED, let it do the calibration, and disable during scanning. Could maybe produce some nice results!

These days I’m busy with another project, but you’re doing some very cool research!
