Dude, you can write in any qualified candidate on your ballot. All the Americans would have to do is have someone get qualified and spread the word to vote for them. I mean, it wouldn't be easy but you could break out of your stupid two-party system if you wanted.
It worries me how much stuff I have on American hosted servers. Photos, email, authorizations for other services, documents, backups, etc. Access to all that seems to depend on the whims of a foreign leader. (I'm not American). If all it takes to get put on a list is disagree with him, I better at least make local backups.

For me those last words, "as an expression of protest" are important. For me there's no protest and thus no boycott. The upset caused me to try Canadian products. I like them better.
California senators don't get to tell me what to buy. Framing it as a "boycott" is just wrong, at least where I live. We have American booze on the shelves. I just don't want to buy American garbage anymore so I'm not doing it.
