I've got search history off, watch history on. When I watch something that I don't want to see more of popping up in my recommendations, I immediately remove it from history after. The resulting watch history plus a small number of core subscriptions results in quite useable recommendations for me.

I use snapraid for parity on top (OMV7). Works nicely with mergerfs. If a drive fails it can be easily rebuilt. You can use older smaller drives to do split parity (I got 3x 8TB as array and 2x 4TB for parity)

Started to re-watch B5 recently... soo much better than most shows from today. With most recent series I struggle to keep attention for a whole episode. With B5 it's more like "What? Wait! Where did my time go?!?"

With paperless it's pretty easy. I've set up a scan profile that directly sends the documents to the consume folder via SMB. Paperless then ingests it, runs OCR, does some AI shenanigans and files the documents. Only thing I still do by hand is a check for errors and editing the file title to something useable.

Of course the AI takes a bit of manual training till it learns your document types and tags and files them accordingly.

I gave Disney the benefit of the doubt when they shelved the EU and JJ talked about doing something completely new. I was impressed by the lengths they went to to get the look right (even hunting down the original lenses). I went to quite some lengths avoiding spoilers.

It didn't take long in cinema to realise I was watching a soft reboot trying to dismantle the original trilogy. I felt betrayed and disgusted. Since then I haven't touched anything Star Wars and completely started to boycott everything Disney.

Yup, got a Pinecil and compared to the not so much cheaper Parkside iron I had before, there are worlds inbetween. Plus USB C PD3.0 and you can even use drone batteries for on the go repairs.

Got a friend who is a bit of a alien conspiracy nut. Shortly before Moonfall he started with the hollow moon alien base theory (I was laughing tears when I saw the trailer). He said the moon is the only satellite in our solar system that doesn't rotate and that is proof.

You should have seen his face when I demonstrated with a phone and a bottle of beer that the moon does indeed rotate once every full orbit. It got even better when I explained that one day we will loose the moon cause it very slowly drifts away from us.

I can recommend Heimdall as a quick scratch for that itch. Not big on monitoring, but a great landing page for almost no effort.

I don't think they asked me to count down either the last time I was put under. But then again I was slightly preoccupied by the ice cold bucket of liquid fire that spread through my veins. Apparently that's what a small fraction of people experience with the stuff they used. Would have been nice to get a warning tho.
