To be honest I haven't done that deep search into how common it is for VPS providers to block port 25, but in the cases it has been relevant for me it has required at least raising a request and for instance for Hetzner being a customer for at least one month. I've figured that it's a good thing and if a VPS provider has no restrictions at all their IP ranges are much more likely to have bad reputation and blocklist issues.
The big problem you’ll run into is that it’s very likely outgoing connections to port 25 is blocked. In my experience it’s very uncommon that residential ISPs allow it, and even most VPS providers will block it unless you request access. So you’ll most likely need some form of relay anyway, and at that point you may as well send directly to the relay.
Controversial opinion: Apple Maps has far superior navigation currently. As in it will actually give correct lane guidance and haven’t directed me to the wrong place yet (Google Maps suggested the wrong ferry terminal recently, lol)
Also tried a few alternatives but a lot of the free apps have given the same strange directions as Google, or missed important shit like one way road directions.
Still hard to see what is actually sent since it's all over encrypted channels. To some extent you can look at the amount of data that is being sent and infer from that what might be actually transmitted. Say if the amount of data seems to match what is expected of uploading voice recordings.

So the chain of exploits would have to be arbitrary code execution in VLC from playing a malicious FLAC file, chained into a privilege escalation to be able to mess with hardware and finally an attack against the firmware. This chain of exploits seem extremely unlikely. Bundled in some random torrent no less.

Yet my feeds are full of memes about barely surviving. I’m guessing that this is mostly due to feeds ending up very US centric, and the situation there is probably a lot worse than Sweden.
Honestly, I think there is a quite large set of people who actually like the content. The guy has a point, if it’s highly upvoted on Reddit there was a lot of people who enjoyed the post.
There is also a very loud portion of people who absolutely hates it, (and I can agree that it’s a bit weird to repost content that relates to someone’s personal experience), but I think it’s actually a vocal minority. Perhaps a minority that is overrepresented in the Fediverse meta communities.
Of course it would be awesome and the best if most of the content on the Fediverse was original, but I would be concerned that it’s actually would become too much of a ghost town if the small number of accounts that post a shit ton of content would leave.

This is kind of an architectural problem with Lemmy and PieFed at the moment tbh. Not everything is federated, just the post and comments. If the post is an image, the instance you post from is going to have to serve that image to all users of the Fediverse (though at least other instances sometimes cache thumbnails). Depending on bandwidth I could easily see someone posting a lot of popular memes and other image posts requiring a lot of bandwidth, which may cost a decent amount of money, or cause the instance to reach traffic limits, depending on hosting.
Fun fact: A NFT is only guaranteeing a URL to an image, because the image data would take too much space on the blockchain. There is no guarantee this URL stays up or even stays the same, or that the image data is unique for that matter.
For what it’s worth, I hear that Tesla has by far the worst tracking for their adaptive cruise control and auto brake feature, especially after moving to camera based tracking. I’ve owned 3 cars with adaptive cruise control and never had any real issues. Biggest problem was a 2011 Volvo that would sometimes keep tracking vehicles going out in a turning lane, but never braked hard for no reason. Probably your Ioniq will work fine as well.
