I’d love to hear your thoughts on Clark Ashton smith if you are up to going into more detail. He’s one of my favorites and I so rarely see him mentioned. He was a contemporary and friend of both Robert e Howard and HP Lovecraft, and I personally found him better at sword & sorcery than Howard and better at weird fiction than lovecraft.
Love this game. It took a while for me to get into it but once i did I was hooked. As noted above the gambit system was a stand out and led to some deep and rewarding gameplay. And a shout out to whoever worked on the translation and localization. All these years later and I still remember how impressed I was by the quality and by all the care and attention to detail that went into it.
Lots of great suggestions here. One movie I’d like to highlight is Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes, which I found to be fun, clever, and utterly charming.
I may be wrong about this, but I believe the ward cost becomes part of the the casting cost of the spell, and if you don’t have any creatures, you aren’t able to cast the spell.
This is my first time encountering his work. When I read the title of this post, I interpreted it as “artwork title - credited artist”. so I thought that “the internet’s sweetheart (for understandable reasons)” was the title of the artwork in the thumbnail.
It would indeed be perfectly understandable why that crawling mummy thing would be the internet’s sweetheart though.
I live in one of the states that required a prescription. I drove across state lines last week to get my booster shot. Looks like if I had waited a little longer I could have saved myself a three hour round trip.
