It's weird that ending food insecurity in the US would cost around 25-30 billion annually. The 17.47B here would cover a lot of that.

Save off an incredibly tiny sliver from the military budget and we'd be there.

And all we have to do is start spending money on our own country's people?

Nah, can't do that, it's socialism.

Stories like these are a good reminder to people in the US saying they will just move somewhere else.

There’s really no guarantee anywhere of safety, and when you leave your home country you become the immigrant.

Maybe that will go well, but if anti immigrant populism starts rearing its ugly head anywhere history has shown time and again it can get bad.

If you have to vote by mail this season take steps to ensure you can get your ballot and get it delivered.

Try to avoid the postal service altogether.

For example in WA state you can print your ballot at home and deliver it to a ballot drop box.

Other states have other mechanisms to get votes counted without having to go to a polling place.

DO NOT TRUST THE USPS.

Do you think bipartisanship is still a thing?

Why do the democrats have to find bipartisan solutions but the republicans can just do whatever the f they want via submission to the executive?

The republicans in their current form need to be buried aggressively before we can get back to talking about bipartisanship and a moderate centrist Democrat is exactly the wrong person for this particular moment.
