Not everything is just a distraction. Trump has been talking about Tariffs, interest rates and invading Iran since the 90s. He even took out full page ads at one point in the paper regarding some or all of those topics.

Except, it was the DHS that pointed the finger right at right wing extremism when it came to domestic terrorism as a threat. Also, Hillary was right to label a certain percentage of the right as deplorable in their views. I think polling shortly after that time proved it, too.

Honestly, if the "liberal media" didn't make such a hullabaloo about a big nothing, essentially giving the extremely radical right wing an assist, it would have blown over as just merely being an accurate observation.
Instead, there is all the usual Murc's Law bullshit at play here: Democrats have to be pure as the driven snow and cannot even state the truth lest it hurt the tender feelings of right wing snowflakes; Republicans, who are expected to be awful, and just cannot help it, get a pass on things like bragging about sexually assaulting women and having it written off as "locker room talk".
Republicans are allowed to just about say and do anything and get praised as just being straight shooters that speak like everyday people. Heaven forbid a Democrat were to do the same thing...
The Republicans more or less always hold a gun to the head of something normal people care about, but that cons don't really care all that much about. Most of the time I'm reminded more of Martin Sheen in the end of The Dead Zone when they do this.

For anyone seriously wondering why Canada walked away from the table, this is exhibit A. Our "deal" would have lasted about two weeks, in exchange for permanent concessions.
A US led global economic depression will lower US borrowing costs, and restart Fed QE operations that were needed during Trump's first term. This would help juice the stock market even more, even as employment/housing/financial losses crash hard, and inflation continues. While it would lower tax revenue, and require even more borrowing, more tax cuts for the rich (indexing capital gains to inflation), with huge military spending increases, is "cure for everything" for Republlicans. Increasing global hostility towards US is a tool for media to rally support for the fuhrer.

If you have to vote by mail this season take steps to ensure you can get your ballot and get it delivered.
Try to avoid the postal service altogether.
For example in WA state you can print your ballot at home and deliver it to a ballot drop box.
Other states have other mechanisms to get votes counted without having to go to a polling place.
DO NOT TRUST THE USPS.
