It goes to show how chaotic global warming is/will be. We were told that the east coast would get more hurricanes and warmer winters. Those predictions have proven true. But now we also get polar vortices and unusually low-activity/late hurricane seasons (probably thanks to el niño). These events then overshadow the slower steady warming (which is actually lightning-fast compared to other climate changes humans have lived through).
You can't give a history of online piracy and just entirely skip over music/limewire.
Pirating music was very popular for the short period where limewire could be used without fear. Then corporations started suing the shit out of normal people. Then apple opened the iTunes store, and pirating music became more niche again. No more burned cds from tracks discovered on limewire, but playlists with paid-for music on an iPod

That's 16 confirmed dead. Those are people whose names are known, and presumably body recovered. There's more than 500 missing in one of the most remote regions of the world. That's an acknowledged disaster.
