I'm sure there are plenty of people on their armchairs saying otherwise, but the defense attorney's job is to defend their client to the best of their ability, which often translates into what is the best case scenario? The odds of double jeopardy were certain, while any form of trial and winning are so fantastically small that they're irrelevant.
I hope it backfires and increases gen z and alpha support for building out public transit. Viable Metro systems in every US city, commuter rail across all 50 states and national high-speed rail system. If we have those things, who cares how much gas costs
I remember in high school social studies, civil rights essentially "concluded" with the death of civil rights leaders. I had a great teacher who tried to include queer rights until the lesson and I am so grateful to her for helping us understand that civil rights includes the the disabled community
Doesn't that require a subscription though? It may not eliminate the slot videos, but that subscription is going to be a pretty substantial barrier to entry
But is it though? I'd argue it just seems more prevalent because the US "controls" more of the media in the west and the capital interests that owns that media is almost universally conservative. That doesn't actually reflect how the vast majority of Americans even feel. Most people, let alone the average American, doesn't even understand how immigration works or just how bad the system in the US is.
To be fair, that's a good chunk of political discourse anytime conservatives/neoliberals in any country feel like they're losing power. Japan, the UK, Germany and plenty others all pushed xenophobic and anti-immigration talking points to the top of the political discourse recently. I'm pretty sure Australia had a bunch of anti-immigration marches last year.
And the price will always go up until there is an alternative to curb demand. There won't be an alternative until people in this country start to demand regional rail in their states, stop acting like public transit is something that can only exist in a major city, and actually invest in the public transit in their cities. "BuT I LiKe DrIviNg!" then drive to your girl's house or the grocery store. But you should have the OPTION to use the bus or light rail or whatever to get to work/school.
edit: I also want to add that this is a disability/accessibility issue as well. We should consider it unreasonable that the elderly/disabled are required to drive or have modified vehicles just to get around their community. If you support taking away a senior's driver's license then you should also support walkable neighborhoods and public transit.
Are you going to ban alcohol as well because that's a neurotoxin?
Maybe you put down the pop science magazine for five seconds and understand that a single study, or even five studies, does not a consensus make. You sound like moms against video games or whatever the hell like it was called it back in the 2000s.
Also, great job completely ignoring the point about non-incorporated vectors for engaging with short form videos don't have enough content for you to continuously scroll.
Is it so wrong to want to watch a funny video from time to time on the bus? IMO the best thing about loops, piefed or whatever is that there's so little on here that you can open your app of choice for about 30 minutes to an hour and then be done for the week.
Sure, but there are still plenty of people who buy MacBook Pros regardless of their actual use cases, simply because they think the laptops will last longer. Anecdotally, I've tried to stop at least three friends from making that purchase.

Idk I do think a domesticated animal won't make it any better
If they're wild animal dicks, yes
Disappointing, but yet another reminder that corporations are not your friends
What did Mullvad do?

If you don't have a VPN, you need to be significantly more cautious, even if you're just leaching

I guess we should get rid of sweet foods as well, as people can get addicted to that and it can lead to obesity.

I wish zoomers were anti-capitalist because they understood that the "good old days" were only "good" because of the exploitation of the global South.
Yeah, no. I don't need an advertisement to inform me that consumerism being propped up by imperialism is why everything sucks
