Bicycles are much different than motorcycles. I rode thousands of miles on road bikes as my main method of transportation over the years. Not many skills transfer, unfortunately. 400-600 cc, singles and twins are gonna be the sweet spot for transitioning from beginner to intermediate rider.
I'm also not sure the course will allow you to bring your own, but worth checking to make sure. They usually have sport, cruiser, and standard bikes to choose from, and they know they're in good condition and appropriately sized.
I rode a 50cc scooter for 5k miles before I stepped up to a proper motorcycle, no course, and was way over my depth when I did. I failed the license test twice before I passed on the third try after many hours of parking lot practice. I had a coworker who had taken the course before purchasing his bike, and when I rode with him afterwards, he could barely get the bike in gear.
My advice: I would strongly suggest dialing back your expectations, it can be a very dangerous activity to engage in naively. Take and pass the beginner course. Read books on motorcycling: Total Control by Lee Parks, Proficient Motorcycling by David Hough are great places to start. When you get a bike, something modestly sized, gear tf up and practice practice practice, parking lots and low stakes streets exclusively for the first little bit. Slowly build up your experience and confidence. Beware Mt. Stupid.

When I upgraded my desktop last January with all new everything I thought I was just getting ahead of tariffs...I did not foresee that memory and ssds and hdds and silicon would all explode in price. Glad I pulled the trigger when I did!
If the router reconnects to the internet when it factory resets and it still works as a gateway, there may still be hope. You'd need some SSH host on another machine behind the router; you'd probably also need some sort of minimal VPS. You could setup a reverse SSH tunnel on the SSH host that would tunnel through the router to the VPS, then you'd be able to connect through the VPS into your network.
Honestly tho, this is a lot of work and if time is tight you might just wanna roll to a store and buy whatever cheap router you can find to limp along til you get back.

I use GrapheneOS and have helped other less tech-savvy people install and use it. You can just roll with the defaults and have a better privacy stance than the spyware Google puts out, or you can take a deep dive. It works just fine either way.
Interesting. I just assume every bike has the engine as a stressed member because its probably cheaper that way, but makes sense to have a full frame on a bike that's expected to see any sort of adverse condition.
I've had great success using 2.5% salinity for most batches. My understanding is that 2% is about the bottom range of what’s safe. You might try salting til it tastes good, figuring out what percentage that is, and try a ferment at that salinity. If it doesn't work you’ll know.
