I don't think its fair to say piracy was niche in the early 2000s either though, everyone had napster or limewire/frostwire.

And netflix wasn't originally streaming only, they started out as online DVD rentals which exploded and then added streaming as a second offering (only discontinuing DVD rentals in 2023).

The modern piracy resurgence is certainly not torrents, though for the power users it is (or usenet), its online streaming sites like whatever the equivalent of 123movies is these days

Its been nearly a decade since I've used twitter, but iirc you use a quote retweet so it shows for your followers. If you just reply, and they don't follow the OP, then it doesn't show in their feeds

Almost certainly, you'd only see activity that would have had a reason to federate over

This follows my conspiracy theory that grocery stores in areas with high SNAP benefits ussge increase the prices on everything significantly. I have some family in an area where a lot of people rely on SNAP, and spent $20 on a pack of five hot dogs.

A 12oz protein shake can have 41g protein @ 230 calories

To get the same from black beans you'd have to consume 2.75 cups of black beans @ 624 calories

That's a huge chunk of your daily calorie intake + the other effects that beans will have in your intestines, no thank you

Weirdo take tbh

Thats a false equivalency. Grok is a service offered by the company, so it's more like a weirdo going to a photographer to commission CP, and the photographer agreeing.

Notice that it's also not "art". The photorealistic output is based on real images of real minors, meaning that any of the generated components are exploiting the minors in the training data since the AI doesn't just create things out of thin air.

Each individual view of CP is considered one instance of exploitation for that minor, so it stands to reason that each derivative work derived from that source image is an instance ofl exploitation on top of the exploitation of the minor in the photo that the AI is editing

Hate that I had to explain this, glad that the tagging function exists in Lemmy. Tagging you as a CSAM Apologist and hope to never cross your path again!
