So are we just kind of admitting that there exists no way to expose any networked device to the internet securely? Because if it's not possible for PLCs I don't see why it would be possible for any device. If water utilities have to take these offline, then how does that advice not apply for every internet-capable device in every commercial and industrial facility worldwide?

I suppose a state can sign it's rights away in a contract just like any other entity, but I'd love to know if one EVER HAS. Because I don't think that's up to GEO and ICE to determine between the two of them which laws they are obligated to follow or not. At first I assumed that ICE had gotten some actual US State to agree to this, which would be horrible but at least would make more sense than a private fucking company and a federal agency unilaterally declaring they won't follow the laws of the state they are operating in, which is what this appear to be.

I know chip and RAM fabs are incredibly difficult and expensive to build, but how is the several trillion $ out there just up for grabs for anyone that can undercut the like 4 companies that have one not enough for tons of huge companies to say "I don't care what it costs, I don't care what you have to do, because even if I pay 50x what it costs nvidia to make a fab, I will still be scrooging like a villain"?

Oh that is just standard copy straight out of the union-busting playbook. In law you would call it "preserving the objection" which basically means they know it's BS but at least if they don't back down from it they can burn more time and money because now the process has to accommodate for all this "pressure" "confusion" and "misunderstanding" that po' 'ol liddle Wikimedia just can't make sense of.

If whoever is writing the lower thirds for FOX had ever been to a library themselves, they might know that the comma there is totally incorrect...

he wouldn't have been an American-style MAGA conservative, that's for sure. "Let thy government abduct thy neighbors because they don't have paperwork" is hard to imagine him saying...

Time to switch and save lol. I change phone plans and car insurance about once every three years at least because no matter what they find a way to run up the price on you over time, so there will always be much much better offers out there

yeah, sort of like how the stock market always spikes right before it crashes, you gotta give people just enough that they can convince themselves everything is going to be great, right up until the last second in order to do a proper rug pull.
