I'm excited for the Steam Frame, less because it's a new VR gadget I probably won't be able to afford, but I'm excited to see how it will boost Linux gaming support on ARM systems in general
I remember the campaigns slightly more than the ones in H3 that I barely touched, because there was an edgy necromancer hero with a whole campaign around him that I thought was cool
My opinion on it otherwise is more or less the same as yours. It didn't "look right" to me and I found the soundtrack to be a little bombastic, but I also remember liking the approaches they made with magic and the interactions with heroes mechanically. It felt like a similar leap from StarCraft and WC2 into the proto-moba "lane" of WC3
I'd love to see another strategy RPG work off of the game they were experimenting with in Heroes 4. Songs of Conquest does a lot to recapture the charm of 3, and that's great but I feel like there's potential for a different kind of experience with the example of 4
Plus, the Dr460nized Gaming Edition comes with conflicting package managers, so you can get the training wheels on for being a power user!

My boomer parents taught me how to use computers and rely on them in their everyday lives
Yet, the actual literacy they used to have is basically atrophied by the smart phones, tablets, and worst of all the walled garden set top boxes or "TV sticks" that are just plug and play to them
They don't care that the tech is getting worse or taking more from them in terms of privacy and owning their purchases or software, it's just easier for them to use and constantly churning out slop to capture their attention
I've had this itch to get my own mini PC and set it up for them to use things like Jellyfin or Kodi but I'm going to have to wait and see if they even care, it's likely just not for them
We're about ten years too late to make that train
