I had a friend do this. Not in the theatre, but a week later when we were talking about the movie. I wasn't sure how to tell him without embarrassing him, but he joked about it himself later.
I am not sure how much to trust this article but what they have been doing is not concealed at all.
They are literally passing the money in a big circle so it looks like actual revenue.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills that the established marketplace hasn't already torpedo'd the fuck out of it.
They have been spending money like water to try and build data centers but doing such a terrible fucking job of it that they have just managed to piss off every landowner in America because their way of doing business is, "Trust me, bro", then shitting all over the towns they build in, because they think somehow the towns should be grateful that XYZ has a data center there that doesn't absolute fuck all for the actual community.
The demand is so high that tech bros are coming out of the woodwork, just like the dotcom era, trying to get a piece of this pie, but then these tech bros are the reason these large companies are shitty at their job. They don't understand that rural America isn't smoking the jerk off crack that they use to convince middle management to slave for them.
They look at "stakeholder engagement" as some sort of bankrupt woke ideology, then wonder why cities, counties, and states are legislating moratoriums on data centers.
They see the money these idiots are throwing at the problem and just want a piece of the pie. They don't think, "Ooh, I can do that better, faster, stronger..." They think that the want a piece of that revenue. They think they can put together some data center EPC, maybe even with an electric generating component, then turn around and sell the EPC company.
It is snake oil salesmanship from top to bottom.
Every single motherfucker actively trading on these guys are part of the problem.
AI is not the problem, it is the tech bros selling it.
They should all be buried alive in concrete. They are so delusional they don't even think they are doing anything wrong.
Random conscription is a terrible idea for a non-wartime army.
I always loved the idea of mandatory service. Everyone has to serve two years to get full "citizenship status", (what that means is definitely debatable).
But not necessarily military service. Your two years could be spent in a number of ways supporting the public good. Like the CCC from Roosevelt, or supporting firefighting, assisting with elderly care, all kinds of things could benefit.
Mussolini was trying to push that particular economic agenda at the time he said that. He is generally credited with being the father of modern fascism, but Mussolini himself waffled between different economic policies as he rose to power and led Italy through WWII.
You can be a fascist and an oligarch, socialist, communist, capitalist, etc...
Nice to hear a similar perspective from someone else.
I was fostered by someone who was the Bishop for a local branch. He was completely tolerant of everyone. Because of that time spent with him, I thought the church didn't give a shit about race or sexual orientation, they were all about community support and helping each other.
Then I went to school in Oregon and it was almost a completely different church.
I noped out of that real quick, but, as you said, it forced me to question everything about LDS, and that just naturally progressed into an overall skepticism.
I now know my experience was not the norm but when I think of my time there (I was a child so my experience was through that lens), I remember being taught to help whoever needs help, no strings attached. That every person was loved by God, regardless of who they were.
Then years later the church is a MAGA haven. I really cannot reconcile my experience with that. 🤷
I grew up Mormon and can't believe who they are now. Granted I was in Jersey, so things were a little more "progressive".
But you're right, they are reaping what they showed.
I do have to say though, that the council of Nicea should be used as an example of why Christian religion is bullshit. (I think all organized religions are bullshit. Mm)
Let's get a group of guys together and decide by committee what it means.
Then change that meaning as the overarching world culture evolves over the milennia.
"You know what? I know this has been part of our beliefs for over a thousand years, but God just changed his mind."
B. The holy Trinity was a blunt force tool created to try and unite the Christian sects together. God and Jesus formalized at the council of Nicea, then the holy ghost added some ~70-ish years later at the Council of Constantinople.
It was bullshit from the fucking beginning.
Anyone gatekeeping Christianity on these corny little details are the fucking worst.
She said she was terribly sorry and wanted to work to save the marriage. We went to individual counseling and then tried couples counseling. She derailed that session by lying almost right off the bat.
She promised nothing would ever happen again, but never took any steps to rebuild trust, other than to say, "Trust me Bro."
Fast forward 2 kids and 15+ years. She cheated again and has twisted everything around to be my fault. She made me the villain, so she doesn't have too feel guilty. But then she really believes her bullshit. Says she wants to try and work it out, but then refuses transparency and digs her heels in when I mention couples counseling.
This sucks. She has said some shit that totally took me by surprise. Like, how could she possibly believe the things she was saying. But she did it.
So now, I am 50 years old, have a 12 and 14 year old, and have to re-figure out my life.
I was so dumbfounded when she said the things she did. Like it broke my brain it was such bullshit.
Of course, she's not toxic, I am the one with all the issues.
No, he was circumcised too early as a child.
I know, I've been studying this for a long time.
If they are still on Reddit, then they fucking deserve the enshittification.

This is my happy place.
Sometimes its a forest surrounded filed with cows. Sometimes its overlooking a wooded valley.
But always a back porch morning, with coffee or tea.

In my fantasy, it doesn't matter. It should be irrelevant. (Gender, race, identity, etc...)

Or Italy.
The games I always remember/return to the most are the ones that had an amazing storyline.
That doesn't require a huge budget. But it does require the developer to love the game too.
So many companies are run from an excel spreadsheet. No true leadership or vision.
Unfortunately, not at the moment :/.
Had a planned trip with the wife and it's all smoke and ash.
Hope Canada is able to contain those fires soon, before more woodlands are destroyed.
So Stalin was a corporatist?

Fascism is economically agnostic.

Title got me interested.
But then read it and realized it is China and Russia forming a pact to exploit African and Asian countries.
I grew up Mormon and not sure why you got down voted.

The cartoon is from a series for the Navy.
The two guys are in blue overalls and belts that were the typical uniform, back in the day.
They were typically focused on safety or the myriad of silly situations a sailor may face on deployment.
LOTO is a standard practice, but like all electricians, sometimes steps get skipped out of urgency (never an excuse), complacency, or stupidity.
They are just swapping out a piece of gear, so it is 120 or 240.
My wife cheated on me.
