I'm currently on fedora and firefox was already installed. ctrl+T/C/V (new tab, copy, paste) work as expected and all other shortcuts including ctrl and alt work as well I've installed a keyd for switching alt+mod otherwise it's a pretty fresh install I started firefox in --safe-mode and got the same behavior. But thanks helping me trouble shoot.
