Girls?

Excuse me, I'm pretty sure I'm not a girl and I want it!

aeronmelon@lemmy.world · 86 pts · 2y (3 replies)

Pointlessly-gendered 16th century rings that unfold into an astronomical sphere.

drunkpostdisaster@lemmy.world · -3 pts · 2y (2 replies)

How is it gendered?

angrystego@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 2y

OP says girls want it.

Piemanding@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 2y

Female, obviously.

gibmiser@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 2y (4 replies)

Fr. Someone start making reproductions

Hubi@feddit.org · 30 pts · 2y (2 replies)

I just checked and there are a ton. You can get one for like 3 bucks on Amazon.

drislands@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Link me, brother!

JimVanDeventer@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 2y

These are 99¢ on AliExpress.

S_H_K@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 10 pts · 2y (1 reply)

There are some versions sold online for 90 dollars it seems. I'm totally sending this to my wife.

floofloof@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 2y

Amazon has them for $5.40.

yuri@pawb.social · 1 pts · 2y

and yet somehow bigots still demand proof that gender is a spectrum 💁💁💁

halvar@lemm.ee · 40 pts · 2y

Biblically accurate ring.

bleistift2@sopuli.xyz · 30 pts · 2y (3 replies)

Fuck girls. I want that ring!

echodot@feddit.uk · 8 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Why not both?

SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml · 5 pts · 2y

Cheese. Am girl, want cheese. Ring is interesting but not practical.

driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br · 20 pts · 2y

Biblical accurate angel ring

CryptoKitten@sh.itjust.works · 19 pts · 2y (3 replies)

I bought an identical one on aliexpress for a few bucks and I wonder if it was a reproduction or if this is exactly the same thing portrayed as a 16th century ring. I think the later is most likely.

feedum_sneedson@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Can you find out and get back to me please.

lobut@lemmy.ca · 8 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Not OP but I saw this:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006054111479.html

there seems to be a few of them.

waz@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 2y

I bet the quality of this is also astronomical.

SolarMonkey@slrpnk.net · 16 pts · 2y (2 replies)

This is one of those awesome things that you’ll find in every size but the one you need. So you buy a size up and hope to find a use for it someday. But alas, you never do, and there it sits indefinitely, occasionally catching your interest and making you go “aww that was neat.. shame it didn’t fit”, until you die and it ends up at a thrift shop.

yuri@pawb.social · 3 pts · 2y

nah babe, your knuckles keep getting bigger for like you’re entire life. rings are totally one of those things you can grow into!

queermunist@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 2y

Gold chain, now it's a necklace!

wh0_cares@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 16 pts · 2y (3 replies)

Fuck, that looks like such a good fidget toy, I want it!

IphtashuFitz@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 2y

I’ve worn an 8 band puzzle ring for probably 40 years now (mine is silver, not gold) and it does indeed make a good fidget toy. Back in high school I taught myself to put it together behind my back, by feel only, when in school.

A friend of mine in college refused to let me show her how to put it together. It took her almost a full semester during a really boring class to figure it out herself.

DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social · 3 pts · 2y

I mean, I'd lose it immediately, but I still want it

androogee@midwest.social · 1 pts · 2y

Not a ring, but if you have access to a 3d printer, I have one of these and I really like it

eskimofry@lemm.ee · 15 pts · 2y (1 reply)

But how do you avoid your fingers getting chopped off when it unfolds?

ASDraptor@lemmy.autism.place · 49 pts · 2y

Some people report they prefer to take it off before unfolding it. But they are unverified reports so take this info with a grain of salt.

chemicalwonka@discuss.tchncs.de · 13 pts · 2y

Don't be afraid

VintageTech@sh.itjust.works · 8 pts · 2y

You think I make "16th Century Jewelry" money??? I'm out here fightin' for my life.

Javi_in_4k@lemm.ee · 8 pts · 2y

That's not an astronomical ring. Orbits are planar, so spherical

Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 2y (1 reply)

That's actually a massive ring... Like it would be very uncomfortable.

BowtiesAreCool@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y

How can you tell how big it is from the photo with nothing but the ring in it?

SuspiciousCatThing@pawb.social · 6 pts · 2y

I bought one of those from Wish years ago. Looked identical to that.

KazuchijouNo@lemy.lol · 6 pts · 2y

Mine just wants a ring 🥴

Krauerking@lemy.lol · 5 pts · 2y

I prefer mine that comes apart into a puzzle that you get to put back together before you can wear it again...
But like actually I love it so much.

BigBananaDealer@lemm.ee · 5 pts · 2y

thats just the wheel of power
