Just a little rule to take the edge off

[Alt Text: A drink with a huge spherical ice cube and some kind of amber colored drink sits on a counter with an uncrustables sandwich garnishing the drink on the edge of the glass. Drink could either be straight alcohol or iced tea.]

Edit: Spherical ice CHUNK. Thanks @Ulvain@sh.itjust.works 😤

"spherical ice cube"? 😏

bahbah23@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 2y

Now you've got me wondering if I've ever actually seen ice that was an actual geometric cube

Yah, I got one of these recently. You fill a plastic mold with warm water, set it in a freezer, use it in your drink later. Neat but really just a novelty.

I think they were just pointing out that an ice cube can't be a sphere. it's a cube...

Thee term ice cube transcends something as limiting as three dimensional space.

Oh snap. Thanks

shneancy@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

the best part of having it is being able to say that you have an ice sphere in your drink

wrenchmonkey@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 24 pts · 2y

i think its funnier if its just straight whiskey.

Pro tip: for clear ice, put hot water in your mold and put directly in freezer.

SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Boil a couple litres of water and put it in your freezer for when you need boiling water fast.

cyborganism@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 2y

BRILLIANT!

Valmond@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y

You can just microwave it when you need it, no need to reboil it.

Am I the only one who thought that was a polypore mushroom on the rim, and a gilled one in the drink?

Radin@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 2y

Yes

Mothra@mander.xyz · 3 pts · 2y

Nah I'm with you. I had to read the description to make sense of it. I've never seen this type of round sandwich either, I thought I was looking at a sponge or something else

chumbalumber@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 2y (2 replies)

No, but I do appreciate someone who likes mushrooms :3

Which is your favourite?

doubtingtammy@lemmy.ml · 2 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Impossible to choose! Can't go wrong with shiitake for breakfast, lunch and dinner tho

chumbalumber@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 2y

St George's mushrooms are pretty top tier for the time of year, so they're one of my favourites. Blewits are up there too :)

GargleBlaster@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y

Maybe it's maple syrup and a crisp pancanke

voxthefox@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y

Pb&j shot?

coffee_with_cream@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 2y (1 reply)

That would be great with some peanut butter whiskey

distantsounds@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y

And add a splash of Frangola 🫠

Kolanaki@yiffit.net · 3 pts · 2y

Drinkable PB&J:

1 part beer (bread), 1 part wine (jelly), 1 part peanut butter liquor (PB).
