I wish all food could be as good as pizza.

Nothing more to it - I just love pizza

Nothing's stopping you from just eating pizza for every meal.

Pizza in the mornin', pizza in the evenin', pizza at suppertime...

Pizza soup is pretty good tho. It's just cheese and pepperoni swimming in a pot of grease from the cheese and pepperoni.

adarza@lemmy.ca · 7 pts · 1y

i make a pizza hotdish. noodles instead of crust, and whatever goes on the pizza gets mixed in with plenty of cheeses and sauce.

Is there a breakfast dish that's essentially pizza when you break it down to its ingredients?

Yes: pizza

cravl@slrpnk.net · 4 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Pizza bagels are pretty good, just toast a bagel, add sauce & pepperoni (and cheese if you want), warm it a bit more in the microwave.

Pepperoni in scrambled eggs is also ridiculously tasty, even more so on a warm croissant with a slice of melty provolone or havarti. Mmmm...

200ok@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 1y

Perfect!

Zahille7@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 1y

I mean there's dessert pizza, so why not make a breakfast pizza?

Maybe there could be a way to make like a pancake "crust" and then use eggs bacon or sausage for your protein, fruits instead of veggies (except maybe green onions), whatever cheese you want. Personally I'd probably go with cheddar, or a cheddar/mozz mix.

janAkali@lemmy.one · 0 pts · 1y

You can put egregious amount of cheese on anything and it would taste atleast half as good as pizza.

Davel23@fedia.io · 29 pts · 1y (3 replies)

Pizza is like sex. Even when it's bad, it's still pretty good.

BearOfaTime@lemm.ee · 12 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Nah.

Bad pizza is awful.

ayyy@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 1y

And bad sex can be painful with lingering burning.

…I guess you could say the same about pizza though.

I thought that as well until I ordered overpriced (40€) Dominos pizza on an airport hotel in Narita becuase I was dying from hunger and I had to throw half of it away because of how bad it was.

It can be--just put it on a pizza

GiddyGap@lemm.ee · 8 pts · 1y (10 replies)

I love pizza, but there's a lot of food that's better, imo.

rumba@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 1y

It's quite possible that the best food I've ever had was a pizza. But I've also had some pizza that's worse than gristly chicken on Wonderbread.

I like French food better. But it doesn't really matter. Taste in food is highly subjective.

Unfortunately vegan pizza isn't the same. It's one of the foods that's not quite the same without real cheese. So I mostly abstain, sometimes I try the vegan cheeses but they're not good imo

Calzones are pretty awesome, but it's not quite the same when the toppings are not exposed to the oven to get crisped up / browned as they would on a pizza.

Cheese and pepperoni especially just hit different on a well-cooked pizza!

That's a very low bar.

The best pizza I've had is still a far cry from say French dishes, or Cajun (which has French and Carribean roots), or something Jamaican.

If I never had pizza again, that would be fine with me.

1rre@discuss.tchncs.de · 3 pts · 1y

Which French dishes?

The best I can think of are actually Italian, Swiss or English dishes co-opted by the French and the rest are extremely average, but French food culture is very good which a lot of people seem to confuse with the actual dishes being good

Valid point on Cajun and Jamaican though

Voyajer@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Cajun. Pizza.

Chozo@fedia.io · 2 pts · 1y (1 reply)

An office I used to work in had a cafeteria that hired professional chefs. On Fridays, they ran "experiments" on some stations, notably the pizza station. They came up with a bunch of really wacky pizzas; the poutine pizza and chicken & waffle pizza were some of my favorites they made. The Sloppy Joe pizza was the only time I've ever needed a fork and knife for pizza, but somehow wasn't awful.

They did a gumbo pizza one Friday, and it was very confusing. They served it on a big, NY-style slice and used pureed gumbo in place of tomato sauce. It tasted pretty good, but had neither the flavor or consistency of either pizza nor gumbo. Probably would have worked better without cheese, but there's potential in those flavor pairings, IMO.

Hadriscus@lemm.ee · 2 pts · 1y

Please, expand on Sloppy Joe

Scientists discover reason pizza is so good: It's pizza-flavored!

Trual@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Favorite toppings?

LovableSidekick@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Where do I begin? Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, olives, canadian bacon & pineapple (that's right), but not all at the same time. And yours?

Trual@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y

Those are all great!
