Apart from the joke, I think everyone should be intolerant of intolerance

Kenny2999@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 303d

Exaxtly. Please stop tolerating your own intolerance. It is intolerable.

rtxn@lemmy.world · 42 pts · 303d

A ridiculous, fake language.

unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de · 37 pts · 303d (2 replies)

All languages are fake...
If its a functional language then its a language like any other.

lennee@lemmy.world · 29 pts · 303d

lena@gregtech.eu · 6 pts · 303d

bobs_monkey@lemmy.zip · 15 pts · 303d

Today's challenge: is it Dutch or Klingon

tja@sh.itjust.works · 8 pts · 303d (2 replies)

Okay, you convinced me that this is indeed a fake language.

Aardig? Really?

Shelena@feddit.nl · 11 pts · 303d (1 reply)

Als we Nieuw Amsterdam niet hadden gegeven aan de Engelsen hadden jullie allemaal Nederlands gesproken! ;-)

TotallynotJessica@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 2 pts · 303d

We all probably would've been better off for it.

Any language that has 'stroopwafel' cannot be a serious language.

Man, they're good though.

don’t forget “ we hebben een serieus probleem ”

KSPAtlas@sopuli.xyz · 13 pts · 302d (2 replies)

Dutch spelling makes more sense than English spelling and English speakers have to live with that fact

snugglesthefalse@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 302d

Not if I don't know Dutch

Blubber28@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 303d

Learning Dutch can actually be really useful! For example I, as a Dutchman, like to use my own tongue whenever my Warlock communicates with their devil patron in our D&D games.

BrundleFly2077@sh.itjust.works · 9 pts · 303d

And somehow still no Slovak.

Simulation6@sopuli.xyz · 8 pts · 303d (3 replies)

Klingon is a better constructed language then most.

they had fake languages before AI..

glitchdx@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 302d (1 reply)

constructed languages are still languages. They may not be as well fleshed out as languages that developed naturally over time, but you can still learn and speak/write them. Some constructed languages are more complete than others.

tgirlschierke@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 302d

yeah, those are real. dutch isn't

rumschlumpel@feddit.org · 4 pts · 303d

Dutch sounds cool to me, though. I can see why people want to learn it even if it's not real language.

sunbytes@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 301d

Sending this to every Dutch person I know
