Mfw time goes forward faster and faster and the years change without asking first. And then your mind and soul never truly realising how much time has passed.
I stayed on WON right up until it shut down and I had to go through Steam to play CS. I was 100℅ in favor of the idea of Steam, but in 2003 the implementation fucking sucked.
I used to use my friends and we would each buy games for a while. Then it just got annoying and decided to cut my losses and make my own. This concept was so new at the time it just seemed to make more sense sharing with someone.
My mom (both parents are 76) told me she’s basically always felt approximately like she did in her 20s. I get what she meant by that, even if I don’t quite feel that young in my head now in my late 40s.
I deleted my original Hotmail after it got hacked. However, I am keeping my Gmail despite Google's monopoly practices. My Gmail username is from a time when they allow addresses like g_star99@gmail.com or skankymistress@gmail.com.
Summer interns will work 40 hours a week, receive PTO, and be eligible for paid holidays during the 11‑week cohort. Our main campuses provide free lunch Monday-Thursday in cafeterias featuring delicious and varied options. Valuing diversity in every way, we embed DE&I in everything we do. Interns may join Employee Resource Groups to connect with our diverse employee base. Relocation assistance may be provided on a case‑by‑case basis.
Ya but you clearly don't. If Mass generalization is bad then you need to apply that logic to whenever you generalize a Mass of people, including nazis. Or all nazi are bad. You don't get you apply facts when you "feel" like it. Think more critically.
Interns are another name for co-op. Higher education is where most of that happens. A lot of high schools will have internship programs too but those are different. So most interns are higher education students that have taken an internship over their summer.

This effect can be really messed up once you have a kid and they get to the ages where you can remember childhood memories.
Things that took FOR FUCKING EVER as a kid just zip past in the blink of an eye when I'm the parent instead of the child.

Pretty sure deleting interns is frowned upon anyway.
Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 14 pts · 327d
Unless you work for DOGE, that is. Then you can just delete entire departments and be praised for it.

That was the interns deleting departments

Anywhere. Unless some country has a higher drinking age than the US... 🤔

I don’t like multi-game launchers, I only got a steam account when games stopped offering either direct download or cd/dvds.

That's still not a pay check.
meliaesc@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 326d
It's paid... how could they offer Paid Time Off if it weren't paid in the first place? Are you assuming all internships are unpaid?
beejboytyson@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 326d
Not once did they claim the intershp was paid.
itsprobablyfine@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 326d

beejboytyson@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 326d
"What are you on about" Google unpaid internship stereotype
beejboytyson@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 326d
That wasn't clear. In canada unpaid internship is illegal.

dan1101@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 324d
Often wrong. Anyone identifying as a Nazi is at best mentally ill and at worst fully evil.
beejboytyson@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 324d
So not all nazis are bad?
RedditRefugee69@lemmynsfw.com · 1 pts · 320d
Do you know the difference between "often" and "always?"
beejboytyson@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 320d
Ya but you clearly don't. If Mass generalization is bad then you need to apply that logic to whenever you generalize a Mass of people, including nazis. Or all nazi are bad. You don't get you apply facts when you "feel" like it. Think more critically.
RedditRefugee69@lemmynsfw.com · 0 pts · 320d
Yeah you definitely aren't thinking with this one. Well I hope you aren't anyway, given the result.
They said often wrong, not always. If they'd said always, you'd have a great point.
"Nazis are bad" is one of the exceptions that made them say "often" instead of "always."
Does that make sense to you yet?
beejboytyson@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 320d
So you change what words mean depending on when you need it too. Gj you sure cooked with this one.
mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca · 7 pts · 326d
ah yes, because providing the opportunity for true work experience in return for pay is such a terrible thing
MrScottyTay@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 326d
Aren't American interns not paid, but instead "paid" with experience?
mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 326d
idk I'm thankfully not american
InputZero@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 326d
An intern from a University probably won't get paid but an intern from a Community College probably will get paid well.
MrScottyTay@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 326d
