Autism ‘highly likely’ linked to Tylenol and circumcision, RFK Jr. says

https://www.knoe.com/2025/10/09/autism-highly-likely-linked-tylenol-circumcision-rfk-jr-says/

I mean, I guess if guys weren’t circumcised they could simply store their Tylenol in their pee pee pockets.

Autism is stored in the balls

ExcessShiv@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 13 pts · 321d (1 reply)

No it's the anti-autism genes that are stored in the foreskin...obviously

Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 321d

If that gets americans from cutting foreskins i gladly spread this rethoric

I think you had an incorrect circumcision

horn_e4_beaver@discuss.tchncs.de · 4 pts · 321d (1 reply)

No, autism is caused by the nerve endings on the head of the penis migrating to the brain due to them being overstimulated after circumcision.

RVGamer06@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 320d

That's how people become dickheads, not the cause for autism.

IronBird@lemmy.world · 72 pts · 321d (1 reply)

fuck it, if they could get worked up enough about this to ban genital mutilation atleast that could be 1 win.

not worth the rest of the shit going on but atleast its something

I mean yeah anything that helps stop circumcision for un consenting people would be great can't believe that gave me a little hope

halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world · 52 pts · 321d (4 replies)

They're always thinking of pp. Constantly. They can't get it out of their heads. Theirs or others. It's the one through line transiting everything the Republicans do.

Why do the Americans put their lolcows into government

Seleni@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 321d

Government is where people go to make a name for themselves if they’re too nasty and unprincipled for charity work but too incompetent for business.

noobdoomguy8658@feddit.org · 1 pts · 320d

Power tends to attract people that should have none of it. And when there's anything in place that's supposed to keep this kind of people out, they find ways around it or to dismantle it and then get in anyway.

There's little special in the US government being shit today.

What's special is a government of a country as big and influential as that of the USA not being shit.

I feel like circumcision is a really bizarre practice we should stop doing, but I don't want that conversation to get conflated with this nonsense.

glitchdx@lemmy.world · 26 pts · 321d (1 reply)

it's a medical procedure that has legitimate uses, such as a permanent treatment for severe phimosis. Absolutely should not be done to kids just because fictional sky daddy is obsessed with dicks.

daggermoon@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 320d

In most cases it is not medically necessary. It should be addressed on a case by case basis. It should not be the norm.

jaschen306@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 320d (4 replies)

I got circumcized at 13 for 2 reasons. My foreskin was pretty tight and it hurt when I get hard. Then watching porn made me think my penis was not normal.

I really regret it. I wish I can go back to having a foreskin.

x00z@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 320d (3 replies)

That's a medical condition and completely circumcising is the most common and default solution.

jaschen306@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 320d (2 replies)

I know, but nobody tells you that your tip of your penis hurts/sensitive when you're running or walking for too long. I have to wear briefs or some kind of support when I run. Even tho it's better, it hurts after awhile.

x00z@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 320d

I have no problems with that. Not sure how long ago it was for you but maybe it gets better with time.

Redredme@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 320d

.... Err .. no? Or you have very raw fabric clothing or something else is up, bud.

Or do you mean you normally used no underwear when working out and it isn't that long ago (months, not years) since you had the procedure. Then yeah, there is a difference. But it all err.. should work out.

Speaking as one to the other if you catch my drift. Be happy you did it bud, the pain was just the one of the nasty other complications possible.

So does the presence of autistic women imply the existence of the 'lady foreskin'?

Mysteries of the female anatomy never cease to amaze.

Dasus@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 321d (9 replies)

Uh... women do have a "foreskin". Foreskin is what we call a prepuce in men and a prepuce on women is called a clitoral hood.

null@lemmy.nullspace.lol · 5 pts · 321d (8 replies)

Since we're nitpicking, that means that no, they do not have a foreskin. You're specifically showing that its only called a foreskin when it's on a penis.

Dasus@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 321d (7 replies)

Well, since we're nitpicking you'll notice the quotation marks around "foreskin".

A rose by any other name still smells as sweet.

In female humans and other mammals,[1] the clitoral hood (also called preputium clitoridis, clitoral prepuce, and clitoral foreskin)[2]

Most unhinged statement I can make on it:
There is no such thing as an autistic woman. The women with autism are all trans and have been circumsized.

Scariest statement I can make on it:
For women, it’s not the circumcision, it’s whether or not the mother has taken birth control prior to being pregnant.

Most rational statement I can make on it:
RFK has had too many homemade medical remedies, and we’re all paying the price.

Sir_Premiumhengst@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 321d

Silly. Not an inclusive and. It's linked to Tylenol in women, and Foreskins in men. That's why we need to abolish any gender nonconforming ppl, because that breaks the narrative. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

/s

skisnow@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 320d

Women are disproportionately underdiagnosed for autism, which could be one of the reasons RFK types have latched onto male-specific causes.

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/when-your-adult-child-breaks-your-heart/202504/why-are-we-still-underdiagnosing-autism-in

Shyness tends to be problematized less in girls than in boys, and parents may perceive shyness as “sweetness.”

Many autistic people have special interests that they focus on. In boys and men, these often include cars, numbers, or collections. Girls may have more socially typical special interests, like celebrities or animals.

(of Masking) Gender norms exert a huge influence on women’s behavior, and women who deviate from gender norms can face harsh backlash.

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 21 pts · 321d

They really are obsessed with genitals.

SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml · 18 pts · 321d (8 replies)

So… the circumcision has NOTHING to do with it!

They are STILL claiming Tylenol is the problem.

They just added “circumcision” for click bait.

bear@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 10 pts · 321d

It's possible someone noticed that the autism diagnosis rate in the US is higher than most other countries that leave children's genitals intact.

The theory falls apart though when you look at Sweden and South Korea.

Apepollo11@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 321d (5 replies)

Not sure what you mean by clickbait - the article does say that he claimed circumcision causes autism, and explains the 2015 study to which he's probably referring to.

SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml · 8 pts · 321d (4 replies)

He's claiming that because of the pain involved, people took (were given) Tylenol for that pain.

Cutting your finger (or any other appendage) does NOT cause autism.

Tylenol does NOT cause autism.

He's an idiot.

ManixT@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 321d (1 reply)

Not only that, but circumcision happens after birth. The DNA mutations association with autism occur in utero. The symptoms may be noticed later in life, but it's not something that is caused by something after birth.

stoly@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 320d

Mutation isn’t a good way to look at it. Better a difference in development.

Apepollo11@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 321d (1 reply)

If you insert a tylenol tablet into the head of your circumcised penis, you will get double autism.

Spacehooks@reddthat.com · 17 pts · 321d

Ok I knew it was bait but I had to see wtf going on. Save yall a click:

There are two studies which show children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, it’s highly likely, because they were given Tylenol

Its Tylenol still. Maybe we need to go back to heroine!

They discovered that there’s more neurodivergent people among ethnic Jews? Groundbreaking.

warbond@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 321d (1 reply)

Lol, they didn't discover shit, they're trying to correlate data to fit some kind of fucked up narrative in a campaign against... I don't know, but it's probably going to include lists of the "sick" who need to be "taken care of"

misk@piefed.social · 4 pts · 321d

I thought „groundbreaking” would be sufficient indication of sarcasm, sorry. They discovered a correlation and went wild with it but to be honest science and medicine are rediscovering basic facts about autism all the time - this is just one more example. At this point science is also a bit to blame - we’re producing countless papers that are just data collecting because they don’t even attempt to find causal links, making it easy for politicians to spin it however they want. This is a double edged sword in any case because RFK could say it’s the Jews that are the problem tomorrow using exact same data.

They want to diagnose women who take Tylenol while pregnant with TDS. Previously RFK Jr said he wanted to put people with mental illness - which he claims TDS is - in camps.

They want to build camps of pregnant liberal women. Do you think they will let them keep their babies? I doubt it.

I think the more nefarious implication here (if he can get people to bite into this) is that if all it takes is to remove a piece of skin to "mAkE tHe aUtIsM" then they can next argue that people that have been crippled, or had limbs amputated are less than whole and have mental "diseases" as well.

On a less serious note...Is he going to physically prove he's not autistic?
