The man went to get his script filled from a different chemist and he happened to have the last box with him (empty because he'd already taken that months worth) because he wanted to point out that he didn't wanted these ones because the pills were too big.

The lady said "wait that box is not on this script but I'll get the pharmacist". The pharmacist then told him that these are the wrong blood pressure tablets and that they are 8ร— the dosage (he is on the lightest dosage). She took photos and escalated the complaint.

Now the original chemist has contacted him apologising profusely and wants him to come in for a check up. He wants to know what he can get for free because they tried to kill him.

I've said this before the man is a machine.

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 287d (2 replies)

Firstly, what a fucking legend.

Secondly, I'd be wanting a fuck tonne of stuff for almost killing me.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 287d (4 replies)

They keep asking him if he's had any bad reactions and he says "no". I told him next time they ask, tell them you've been eating more icecream lately and you think your dick's grown a few more inches and see what they say.

He should start reeling off pregnancy symptoms

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 287d (2 replies)

Has he been feeling dizzy or anything like that lately? That is alarming. Maybe you can get a big box of jellybeans.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 287d (2 replies)

No. No dizzy. No fainting. Maybe a bit more tired than usual but that's cos he's actually working more these days.

Fuck yeah it's alarming considering he drives machinery.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 287d (1 reply)

tiredness can be a symptom

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 287d

True but he averages 18000 steps a day but last 2 weeks he was doing around 25000 a day so it could be that too.

He got his shipment of chilli that he's been high on so even if there were anymore symptoms he wouldn't know it.

Bottom_racer@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 288d

lol. So the 'real' swimming pool they're doing is on the right near that concrete corner which is probably 1.5 metres deeper than what you see currently. It's clay heavy soil so there'll be a lot of swearing on wednesday heh.

Catfish@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 288d

Hoping that doesn't become next door's problem. Looks damn close

So Iโ€™ve had a slow creep of weight in the last couple of years, and though itโ€™s not super excessive itโ€™s the heaviest Iโ€™ve been and not a trend I want to continue. Gonna try and reduce the snacking and cook some lower calorie foods for a while. Also gonna attempt some fitness improvement, but Iโ€™m a pretty sedantry person so need to start gentle. If anyone has recommendations for apps or youtubers etc for beginner fitness would love any tips.

Edit: love all these great recommendations, thankyou all!

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 288d

I've been using this calisthenics program for surgery recovery/rehab. It starts at a pretty easy level with progressions as you get fitter. A friend said I was looking musclier the other day but it's probably the weight loss.

On YT I like "Chloe Ting" and "Move with Nicole" for other good workout vids. Girls and Boys muscles are pretty similar and when I watch female exercise youtubers I don't get incel algo spam with it.

I walk to one park, do a workout set, walk to the next park and do the other set and then home. I do that twice a day on the dog walks.

tone212_@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 288d (4 replies)

Walking is very effective, low impact, the weather is (usually) better for this now. Work up to 10,000 steps a day. Good luck!

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 288d (1 reply)

make sure you have very good shoes and never exercise/walk through pain. "No pain, no injuries."

SituationCake@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 288d

Thatโ€™s good advice. Iโ€™m pretty lucky, no current injuries. Just need to work on getting started!

SituationCake@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 288d

I used to do a lot more walking in the past due do different location and job, maybe thatโ€™s part of the problem, less incidental exercise. Will be getting out there once the weather clears!

thatKamGuy@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 288d (3 replies)

Depends a lot on your personality; some people are successful with dramatic dietary shifts - I had success just straight switching to keto 7ish years ago, and it helped me drop 42kg over ~18 months. But I know for others such a drastic shift can be too over-whelming and smaller changes snowballing over time have worked better.

Iโ€™m pointing this out to begin with, because that there is no one-size-fits-all solution; everyoneโ€™s path is going to be a little bit different - and it comes down to your individual relationship with food.

Weight loss is ultimately all about one thing; a caloric deficit. Work out what your Total Daily Energy Expenditure is (there are heaps of calculators online), start tracking your calories using an app like MyFitnessPal or Cronometer (at least initially, until you get a feel for it), and find a way to comfortably, sustainably maintain a caloric deficit.

Exercise is a great booster, but you canโ€™t put-exercise a bad diet. Focus on the food first, and slowly add in exercise gradually over time. Walks are a great way to get some sunshine, fresh air, and catch up on your favourite podcasts or audiobooks.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 288d (1 reply)

drastic dietary change here

found out I am allergic to milk and to yeast a few months ago ( can't even have vegemite and right now my lips and tongue are on fire from having one piece of bread )

no cheese, yoghurt, butter, milk, ice cream, or anything made with above, including chocolate

no breads or vegemite,

I haven't tested beer yet , this is the worst, I love beer

it's really hard, I have stopped buying so much , have changed how I cook but I still have some occasionally, it just causes reactions

SituationCake@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 288d

Well done, this sounds really tough!

SituationCake@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 288d

Congrats on the 42kg! I only need to shift about 10 to get back to my regular weight. Just want to get on top of things before it keeps going in the wrong direction. I think drastic or strict diet is not sustainable for me, I think a general overall reduction in calories will be the goal.

Thornburywitch@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 288d (2 replies)

Cherry tomatoes make great snacking foods, and baby cukes too. Also nourishing.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 288d (1 reply)

yum :)

Thornburywitch@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 288d

And you can dip them.

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 288d

Try out the stuff geared at rehab and oldies as itโ€™s gentler, and really watch the potential for injuries.

Go for core strength first as it will really help.

Pilates is a lot more supported than yoga and doesnโ€™t necessarily require much more equipment but classes are more expensive.

Also swimming might be an option? Low impact exercise. (Though I hate bathing suits and changing rooms)

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 287d

Something that worked for me in the beginning was to stop eating when I was full.

That made a big difference when I was trying to lose weight.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 288d

My starting point was walking to the shops with a small backpack to get that night's tea. There's no room for snacks that way.

When the dog takes me for a walk I still take my backpack and I put weights in there.

Good luck.

I agree with SaneMartigan about the Hybrid Calisthenics, Hampton is really good with motivation and encouragement for all levels of ability. I've been using an app called FitOn which has heaps of free on demand content to try, everything from quick 5 minute routines to lengthier total body workouts. There are some fabulous trainers on there who are super encouraging and I've been using it for about 3 months and loving it.

I showed the boys the 2015 Jurassic World yesterday. I see it as more of an action movie than a horror movie but it has that horror movie DNA because everyone in the movie is an idiot and the whole thing could have been avoided if there weren't some glaring plot holes and people thought about things for a second

PeelerSheila@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 288d

The stupid is strong with that movie for sure. I watched it last year with my tween/young teen kids and it was cringe/comedy ๐Ÿ˜†

Vacuumed, moved the desk from back room to dining room and moved partners PC on there instead, and moved dining table the other day. Today I put away the clean clothes, wiped down the counters, moved the tv from back room to dining table, and have set up the PS4. Next is setting up the PS2, because SOMEONE* forgot the PS4 isn't compatible with PS2 games, and SOMEONE* wants to play Ratchet and Clank.

^*the "someone" is meeee^

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 287d (2 replies)

Emulation? The PC is compatible with PS2 games.

StudChud@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 287d (1 reply)

I've done it before on my old PC, I'd just need to do it again for my current PC. But tbh I have my PS1 and PS2 and their accompanying games from when I was a kid still, and I want the feeling of playing those games on a console like I used to do. A console that isn't connected to the internet not requires me to sign in or do updates; it's just the machine, the game, and me. There's something about that that I'm chasing I think

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 287d

I feel ya. I've got a little Dell PC setup for emulation with no internet. It's still nice but it's no console. I mostly play 4 player Shadows of Mystaria (DnD),

and I came home with a set of 3 small nicely framed prints of seascapes. ๐Ÿ‘ I did an image search and they are by Konstantin Volantis, the Turner of Greece and painted Circa 1870s . They are lovely and tell a story. One is of traditional boat maintenance . Another is fishermen in a squall, the last is of the market in a small fishing village, probably the village he grew up in. I'm imagining these pictures hanging up in the home of Greek immigrants ( who I assume came in the 50s or 60s, like my parents came from Europe too ) and for them they would have evoked memories of Greek places and pride in modern artistic heritage. Looking forward to it. Grief that this is the last, but I reckon Kerry herself would thoroughly endorse celebrating the occasion.

Okay dayum I am sucked into Boulet Brothers Dragula show ๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm gonna have to keep this Shudder sub so I can watch this new season airing at the moment.

Gosh the contestants are so dramatic and messy, so talented and fantastic performers, it's my new favourite show. The comebacks and witty remarks they have are just fucking killing me, like all of them have to go to the burn ward. But the show is so inclusive, all queers who are into horror drag are welcome regardless of identity. It's such a great performance and reality show, I love my trash.

You should track down and watch Orgy Of The Dead by Ed Wood. I wish a service like Shudder acquired the rights and just turned it into an annual burlesque variety show. The premise has such great potential.

So, not really any music recording done but I faffed around with some stuff I've been meaning to do like figuring out how to make my Circuit Tracks and Rhythm talk to each other. There's a bunch of music stuff I've been meaning to set up or learn so maybe I do that in the evenings after the kids go down instead of just playing games. If I don't end up recording anything, I'll be the most set up to record things when I'm readdy.
