Do you guys know where you were at 11/11/11 11:11:11?

Mobiuthuselah@mander.xyz · 20 pts · 284d

I'll never forget. I got engaged that day.

wewbull@feddit.uk · 19 pts · 284d (2 replies)

Remembering those who died in service maybe...

"The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month" is when WW1 ended and is held as Remembrance Day across Europe .

expatriado@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 284d (5 replies)

i remember 8/8/88 8:8:8, it was at the start of elementary school day, most kids didn't care as much, my little mind though was big deal

bvoigtlaender@feddit.org · 11 pts · 284d

No way! It was actually the same with me on 12/12/12 12:12:12. I spent the better part of that day trying to explain to my high school class chat why it is a big deal (it is the last one like that until 2100, with two digits being the same). Nobody was in any way as thrilled about it as i was. I sat on the couch in the living room–alone, when the 12th second struck. Won't be forgetting that anytime soon... what a time to be alive.

Have a family member born on 08/08/08. Easy to remember that one.

expatriado@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 284d (2 replies)

my son was born 2/24/22, 2 days too late for 2/22/22, so i tell people when they ask for his birthday: same day Russia invaded Ukraine

ThePantser@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 284d

My son was 12/13/10, 2 days and it would have been 12/11/10

Did you account for timezones? First fights started at 3:40 a.m. Kyiv time, which is UTC+2.

umbraroze@piefed.social · 8 pts · 284d

Probably heading to the city centre to pick up a copy of Skyrim for Xbox 360.

I got home, did my NaNoWriMo writing sprint, and then fired up Skyrim and played like 12 hours straight.

DmMacniel@feddit.org · 7 pts · 284d (2 replies)

Sitting at home, playing Skyrim.

Blood on the Ice was possibly the most bug-filled quest I've ever encountered!

WALLACE@feddit.uk · 2 pts · 284d

I replayed that game so many times and I think that quest only played through properly once

Naz@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 283d (1 reply)

Yes. Playing Skyrim.

EmpathicVagrant@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 283d

Most likely sleeping. I worked a night shift at the time. I definitely remember where I was at midnight the night before, though: picking up Skyrim for PS3 at Gamestop to take home for my wife to play (I went in to work late to get it).

darkdemize@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 284d

On a military base in Afghanistan, ironically enough.

Droggelbecher@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 283d

Interestingly enough, I'm 80% sure, because it was a weekday, and I sat in the exact same spot for all of high school. The 20% are for the possibility I was sick, in the bathroom, or had a special class I had to leave our classroom for.

Missed opportunity with the zoom percentage but solid effort.

I have been telling my wife "make a wish" for 18 years now every time I see 11:11 on the clock. Today we are celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary. We got married on 11/11/11 @11:11am.

Not sure what she's been wishing for but it hasn't been lots of money lol

DmMacniel@feddit.org · 4 pts · 284d (1 reply)

Oh gawd please no....

Thankfully I'm in northern Germany so I don't have to endure this silly season.

Skyrim was released on the 11.11.2011. I still haven't played through. It's about time.

melsaskca@lemmy.ca · 7 pts · 283d

Photoshop that year to say "1111" and it'll be just like the computers of yesteryear available at the medieval dark ages mall.

In certain German and Dutch cities, this is a fantastic time to be outside. Or a terrible time, if you don't like massive crowds of drunk people in costumes.
