It was colder than the Devil’s heart, raining ice pitchforks as if the Heavens were ready to fall.

That’s a good experience.

A_norny_mousse@feddit.org · 3 pts · 276d

It was. Each wagon had a coal burner for heating, so there was smoke in the air.

P00ptart@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 276d (1 reply)

You were SO close to meeting a bond character.

A_norny_mousse@feddit.org · 2 pts · 275d

Ah, from Russia with Love

Nangijala@feddit.dk · 27 pts · 276d (3 replies)

My womanly urge to kiss my lover goodbye and run after the train until I fall off the platform and break my neck.

"At least... I got... to say.... goodbye, 🪦"

ivanafterall@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 276d (2 replies)

My manly urge to watch, traumatized, as the train turns you to jelly, and I set out to avenge you and kill the bastard rookie cop whose badge caused you to trip onto the tracks.

Nangijala@feddit.dk · 14 pts · 276d (1 reply)

My ghostly urge to haunt you in order to tell you that I was just a clutz and no one else needs to die but I'm a ghost so I can't communicate that to you and instead you go on to wrongfully avenge my death while my presence gives you chronic pneumonia and paranoia.

Ps, sorry about that. I didn't know ghost essence was like black mold, mate. My bad.

ivanafterall@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 276d

Awful cold in here all of the sudden.

Masculine urge to give my partner the evidence as I skip town to retire open a beach side restaurant in a tropical paradise.

Also gives you a chance to be brought back for the sequel!

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 276d

Nah, that's two days away.

Bosht@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 276d

It would have to be on a bench, your arm underneath your trench coat stemming the bleeding of a hidden wound that isn't revealed until you hand him the manila envelope. The rookie notices the blood smeared on the envelope, quickly pulls your coat open, but alas it's too late to save you.

BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 277d (1 reply)

What a delightful title you've chosen.

A+ would meme again

marzhall@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 276d

If unaware, you may enjoy this contest (of which I've chosen the 2021, but there are many and they are great)

adding the 2012 because it's just the best

Duke_Nukem_1990@feddit.org · 16 pts · 277d (6 replies)

the masculine urge to die

yeah I had that too until I started hormones

RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz · 14 pts · 277d (5 replies)

Now it's a feminine urge to die?

Duke_Nukem_1990@feddit.org · 13 pts · 277d (3 replies)

Now the urge is gone :3

the_mighty_kracken@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 276d (2 replies)

Yeah, I don't really know how to properly reply to that. I am happy for them, though.

"As the weather worsened, I caught a glimpse of the rusted shells of previous lives that had been lived out here in this swampy shit hole, and I wondered if I would end up the same way, or what would happen to the girl I was supposed to protect."

xxce2AAb@feddit.dk · 6 pts · 277d

That's very specific, but I can see it.

I don't get it

There's a meme about men choosing one of three aesthetics; noir detective, military historian, or something else I forget the third stereotype. For the men pretending they're in a dime store 1920s pulp crime thriller novel during a mundane day this is the perfect setting for a melodramatic ending, that often took place at train, bus, or air ports.

Can confirm, bottom right checking in

the_mighty_kracken@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 276d (3 replies)

You chose ... poorly.

ViperActual@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 276d (2 replies)

Not to divulge my whole life story but it was definitely a good decision for me. Gave me a direction in life and all that.

Hupf@feddit.org · 4 pts · 276d

Is the direction FRONT TOWARD ENEMY?

the_mighty_kracken@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 276d

I'm just kidding around. You seem like a decent person, and I hope you weren't offended.

I mean, it started playing in my head like the lan party someone brought a 0 day release to was last week. Stopped the lan part of the party dead in it's tracks. However, that wasn't last week. That was a quarter of a century ago. Time to brood a little, staring into the fireplace I guess.

Pencilnoob@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 276d

same! We stayed up all night taking turns playing

FosterMolasses@leminal.space · 1 pts · 277d

Fuuuuuuuck, I felt that lol

vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 276d

My desert dweller urge to nearly fall on my face recover and then get sent sliding into the sunset by a gust of wind at a place like this.

This has actually happened to me once in a very scenic location, the other time was in a 711 parking lot where I rammed into the back of my Jeep Cherokee.

newaccountwhodis@lemmy.ml · 0 pts · 276d (2 replies)

Why should that urge be masculine tho? I'd rather think it's a general sentiment.

Soup@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 276d

This is an existing joke. It’s like the “guys will see this and say hell yea” thing but we still send it to women who will also say hell yea.

mika_mika@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 276d

OKAY gender abolitionist.
