Unless you are detained, physically locked into handcuffs, you can tell any cop to eat your ass instead of emptying your pockets. They have no legal authority to ask this shit unless they arrest you under reasonable suspicions.

FartMaster69@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 130 pts · 262d (15 replies)

Unfortunately they aren’t legally obligated to eat your ass.

Thedogdrinkscoffee@lemmy.ca · 80 pts · 261d (6 replies)

Yet. Vote for me and I'll make it the law of the land.

Finally a politician who supports my interests.

Cop 1: * Bang Bang Bang!

"We have a warrant to search the premises for contraband."

Homeowner: "Let me see that warrant. Ok seems in order."

*undoes belt, drops pants, assumes the position. "READY? START EATIN'!"

Cop 2: "This jobs got it's ups and downs that's for sure.

*eats ass with gusto

Cop 1: "Fucking perv!"

hunkyburrito@lemmy.zip · 24 pts · 261d (2 replies)

Is it bad that I interpreted the "bang bang bang" as Cop 1 shooting a gun at first

Normal if you are an American.

Doing the work of the people, you got my vote.

Very unfortunate

Kolanaki@pawb.social · 9 pts · 261d

We should add that change in with all the other police reformation that should happen.

Sphks@jlai.lu · 47 pts · 261d (3 replies)

This is a great way to get detained, physically locked into handcuffs and not being able anymore to tell any cop to eat your ass.

Wren@lemmy.today · 14 pts · 261d (2 replies)

Not in Canada, depending on how white and employed you look.

Typotyper@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 261d (1 reply)

Explain... More to the detained than the white part

Wren@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 261d

Insulting the cops is protected by the charter under freedom of expression. The cops have to be nicer to us (in theory) then we have to be to them.

Venat0r@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 261d (6 replies)

"reasonable suspicion": telling the cop to eat your ass 😅

BaroqueInMind@piefed.social · 5 pts · 261d (5 replies)

Correct me if im wrong. Doesnt the USA has freedoms of speech? You can actually tell a cop to eat your ass without consequence unless the cop is a smooth-brain dipshit.

hemko@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 32 pts · 261d (1 reply)

unless the cop is a smooth-brain dipshit

Believe or not, this is a requirement to become a cop

affenlehrer@feddit.org · 6 pts · 261d

Believe or not, jail, right away. We have the best patients in the world because of jail.

Venat0r@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 260d

yeah that's why I put it in the quotation marks. Just because it's a cops job to enforce the law, doesn't mean they know the law 😅

PrincessTardigrade@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 261d (1 reply)

My friend from highschool said she was driving with her little brother in the passenger seat, and he apparently flipped off a cop. She told me the cop actually pulled her over and wrote her a ticket. This was a long time ago so I have no way of knowing what the ticket was for, or if this friend was telling the truth, fwiw. However, it's always been my impression that cops can make up some BS charge if they want, and then it's basically your word vs that of a cop *

  • Unless you have a good lawyer
BaroqueInMind@piefed.social · 2 pts · 261d

Cops can issue citations, but judges ultimately decide if they are bullshit or not. Cops do not have the authority to make the law up, they only interpret it and enforce it. If you convince a judge that you only got ticketed for a middle-finger and prove it, you are cleared. Sounds like they got the attention of a cop and the cop followed them until they saw them actually break a law.

PotatoesFall@discuss.tchncs.de · 15 pts · 261d (2 replies)

Let me guess, you're from the US?

BaroqueInMind@piefed.social · 6 pts · 261d (1 reply)

I am not, no. Why?

PotatoesFall@discuss.tchncs.de · 10 pts · 261d

Ah damn I stand corrected. You didn't say where you're from and just explained as if it were universally true everywhere. Kind of a US-Defaultism thing.

MinorLaceration@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 261d

If you are only detained, the officer can pay down the outside of your clothing to check for weapons if there is reason to believe you may be armed. They cannot search you without your consent unless it is incident to lawful arrest. Regardless of the situation, the correct thing to do is to state that you do not consent to any searches or seizures. If they officer actually has the authority to search you, they will. If they search you unlawfully, anything they find is subject to suppression in court.

Deny them consent to search, but do not physically resist if they do. And do not answer questions without a lawyer.

FishFace@piefed.social · 9 pts · 261d

Let's not make such sweeping generalisations.

For example, in the UK, the police have the legal power to search you if the have reasonable grounds to suspect that you have something on you in a few categories, like drugs. There are even (yet more controversial) powers to search people just because they're in a specific area (though there are restrictions on why an area can be so designated). You don't need to be arrested or handcuffed for this, although you might be.

These are really bad advices unless you define where you are from because the laws differ in different countries and what police can and cannot do is different.

Now I want an explanation of wildlife rescue and the stuff in the image.

AlDente@sh.itjust.works · 14 pts · 261d

Explanation: AI slop.

Check out the graduation marks on the syringe. It jumps from 5 subdivisions to 6. Also, I guess the number that follows 1 is also 1!?

Bunbury@feddit.nl · 13 pts · 261d

While I do volunteer in the field of wildlife rescue I’m also pretty sure this is an AI generated image.

However from what I can make out I do have some possible explanations:

A knife: Useful for things like cutting netting or fishing line or anything else an animal may get tangled up in.

A syringe: we don’t really use those ourselves as we aren’t vets, but some of our animals require antibiotics fast (within 2 hours of injury). Also euthanasia is usually done using a syringe.

Trash: the rest looks like the kind of trash one may find stuck to an animal, lodged in its throat, etc. Or it could just be litter that one would pick up to keep the wildlife area clean.

Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works · 62 pts · 261d (6 replies)

When the officer asks you to empty your pockets, you say "no thanks".

Unless you live in the authoritarian states of America

unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de · 28 pts · 261d (5 replies)

Or in Australia. Or anywhere in Europe where there are locally defined "high danger" areas where searches without a warrant are legal.

Anivia@feddit.org · 15 pts · 261d (1 reply)

Yep, in Germany every train station for example is considered a high danger area where police are allowed to search you without a reason

starlinguk@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 261d

We all know that the reason is usually "being a human of a funny colour" though.

Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 261d (2 replies)

Not a lot of wildlife needing rescue in high risk areas though.

Noodle07@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 261d (1 reply)

I live in a high risk area and I need rescuing

PrincessTardigrade@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 261d

stabs you with Fibonacci syringe

blimthepixie@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 51 pts · 261d (11 replies)

Why's the syringe got two 1's on it?

JasonDJ@lemmy.zip · 30 pts · 261d

That's a Fibonacci syringe.

NeatNit@discuss.tchncs.de · 20 pts · 261d (1 reply)

Everything else looks pretty real to me that that's a sign this might be AI

victorz@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 261d

Yup. Each number also has six lines between them. There's usually only four lines from what I've seen. One line = ⅕ ml, or 200 μL. Some thinner syringes will have markings for 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 ml. Those have one line for each ⅒ ml, but still only four lines between the numbered markers.

I feel like maybe this generated image was influenced by an image of a syringe with the half-ml markings, like in the picture below. Then there would be two markings starting with 1, and with 2, and so on. But the generation missed the ".5" part. 😅

ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org · 18 pts · 261d (5 replies)

The screw/nail is also sus. Why such a short thread?

Bunbury@feddit.nl · 29 pts · 261d (2 replies)

Same as the logo on the plastic packaging. Pretty sure this image is AI generated. My only question is: why???

mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 261d

and the fastener heads on the knife are all fucked up

ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org · 4 pts · 261d

Yeah, the milliliters should be divided into 5 parts, not 6.

You already messed up talking to the officer in the first place.

Unless you called the cops don't talk to them. There is literally nothing you can say without possibly incriminating yourself.

Life or death? Talk to save someone otherwise seriously shut up.

OshaqHennessey@midwest.social · 7 pts · 261d (1 reply)

If you have a problem and call the police, now you have two problems.
