No, he just told us his motivation. They are a distraction, therefore he was not talking about them in good faith, but rather to help make the distraction effective.
Maybe he figured that since he wasn't actually a part of the cool pedos club he'd be safe? Granted, I don't think it's terribly likely since the man clearly has a complex about not being considered cool and would never admit to it, but you never know. Of course, this is ignoring that just trying to get in is pretty damning in its own right.
