Humans being heroes! That’s an act of bravery most adults can’t manage, let alone a young man his age.

I'd be brave enough but 15 mins on a bicycle, fast chase or normal pace, and my fat old heart will give out.

I wanted to independently verify this story; have to say I'm a bit disappointed.

Teen hero who helped save girl from abductor gets up to 10 years for armed robbery

He is still the boy who saved the girl.

Fuck, though.

Trigger2_2000@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 194d

Yeah, that's why I was just a bit disappointed.

Switch the order of events and he gets a sealed Juvenile record and a heroic start to his adult life.

But he was paroled in 2019 - hope he’s good!

Deep down, all humans are trash.

Trigger2_2000@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 194d (1 reply)

I wouldn't say that. Sounds like he couldn't handle/capitalize on his earlier success.

Just sad.

Or society doesn't actually reward heroism and your own view of morality doesn't properly recognize the complexity of navigating life in a capitalist hell, one of the two.

Some woman was so impressed she set up a scholarship fund for the kid, yet he was still so broke he robbed a place for $200 (split between 2 people).

Ha! No sadness under the story about a literal kidnaping.

Get that dude some Lycra and a decked out Pinarello!

Hmm, keep posting these things, we will see yet if humans can even approach redeeming themselves.

I think its very simple, track down this boy and make it president when he is a man.

Good thing the United States would never elect a president with any criminal history

Steal a couple hundred dollars = years in prison

Steal millions, harm the environment and kill people indirectly = Successfully entrepreneur or politician.

Ethics is more complex my friend. Stealing for necessity is justifiable.

Stealing for pure insane greed should be consider a psicológical disorder and granted reclusion and reeducation.
