Kinda like that statement about no one being able to go a day without using it. Its weird and does not hold water logic wise. This seems to be the same, it is just a desperate sales tactic from people who put to much of themselves into the tech. Sunk cost and all that.

However the over use of AI seems to be a great way of being wrong faster.

Well one of these fashion choices I have seen before, and its not the tie over the apron.

Oh for sure, I hate EVs due to them being new and shit nothing to do with being electric. I also hate new ICE vehicles for the same reason. I wanted an EV myself but short of making my own so far there is nothing I would ever own (maybe soon?).

I tried a few years ago for example to move to an EV motorcycle but found they don't make one that is not stupid, I need to ride 250km one way, spend the night and ride back. The route I take has zero service (like zero not just chargers but no gas, food or washrooms) stations for the last 190km so I would need about 300km range for it to work. Thought that would be doable since I don't need to go the speed of plaid and don't care about my 0-100km time, but nope, they don't make any EV bikes like that. They all are direct drive (no gearing) torque monsters built to go so fast your skin will come off. They even make some they claim are for adventures but have 150km range. The ones I looked at all have better city then highway efficiency do to them being geared like toys, They could have made one with a higher gear ratio (since the high rpms seem to require a stupid about of heat management at highway speeds) but noooooo, not one on the market is a real vehicle.

This is actually great news for us non usa nations now. Oddly enough the scam has resulted in a non functioning murder machine, wild.

I guess this phenomenon also explains russia and others, years of chest banging and massive military force gains (on paper) while every corner is cut for profit makes for a paper tiger. I don't even think its something that goes un noticed, I think about 40 years of us navy reports screaming about not having new non capital ships or China finding out a bunch of their rocket fuel had be replaced by water. Difference seems to be less about capital and more on how the nation deals with this corruption, China for example seems to have a line that once crossed puts generals in front of firing squads where in the usa they just join the grift.

You are projecting your issues on other nations, The 2 party issue is almost only an american issue (one you tend to try to spread).

Even places that have 2 main parties don't have the same issue since they let other parties exist, the us does not. I can't think of another nation (that is not a single party state) with something as stupidly restrictive as the electoral collage and us style party system.

It’s an unavoidable feature .... I instead support candidates as nominees for the party that is less harmful.

Not unavoidable, not impossible and you are just pushing the problem down the road in the best case. You are at the end of that road, your midterms will let us all know if you even have the ability to vote them out (I assume its not going to go as well as anyone hopes).

And there lies the trap, you all don't really have a choice do you?

You are right, your biggest hurdle is the two party system. Your next issue stems from that, you blame people who don't vote for a party you also don't really agree with. This is not rational but here you are, stuck and unwilling to do anything else. It is telling you reference an election so long ago (2000 if my memory is right is 26 years ago) that it is hardly even in the same ecosystem of shit you are in today.

You have all went so far past the point that doing damage control by voting dem means much (a reason they keep losing is that its been the request for so long people resent it). You are all so far lost that your own people are voting to distroy everything just to feel like they have a choice, but they dont, not at least in a meaningful way. Because the underlying issue is still there, voting dem may delay the process but not stop it as the dems don't have any incentive to fix things, its their whole platform gone if they do.

So yes, please vote left in the primaries, vote dem when you have no other choice. But please push for new parties, support them, lean on your state to push back on federal control, to the point of separation if possible. You can't just keep telling people to do the same things that are not working and be getting upset when even the idea of anything else is presented. Because you will at this rate and course never address the issues, it will never be the "right" time and as you do damage control things will keep sliding.

My mother was like that, ate gum off the sidewalk as a kid. Had an iron stomach as an adult. We would all be sick as dogs from bad food and she would not only be fine but eat the left overs the next day.

Yeah, and this is how I know you never worked in the random standard production to miss the humor. Its a picture of a tech bro type in a clearly decommissioned closet stressed out about what's going on, a common thing and always funny. I can just picture the tech on site in the next room replacing a fan on a much less "cool" looking appliance while that guy stresses out on a conference call with the "stakeholders" on his coax nest.

Now that being said I have worked on places still using coax (might still be) and tape libraries, and all sorts of museum pieces well after you would think they would. But I can tell that picture is after decommission since it is clean. If that was in use it would be filthy and filled with so many things that may or may not be important/in use. Fans all clogged running at max rpm, and the smell... I can still smell it now. But then again I was the guy they called to fix shit after the local (often tech bro) it guy gives up so I think I often saw the worst places.
