US democracy is dead. None of the elected democrats are calling it for what it is because if they say the system is broken they will lose their authority instantly.

They are pretending things are still functional so they can hang onto their power as long as possible.

Well, I have no power, so I'll call it.

February 26th, time of death....5:37pm.

......oh? Is that not what you meant? Eh, I stand by it.

At least they get trains with their authoritarianism

Pajonk@szmer.info · 1 pts · 180d (1 reply)

I know other authoritarian regime known for trains. It was called third Reich...

Maybe there is no freedom, constant invigilation, laogai, using people as resources and selling them to multinational corporations so they can work their ass off manufacturing cheap goods for western corporations, but at least there are more trains. Absurdism maxing

JasonDJ@lemmy.zip · 0 pts · 179d

I was really hoping Hitler 4 Prez meant a potential investment in rail, as the silver-lining. But nah, can't even get that.

kreskin@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 21 pts · 180d

A lot of people figure they would rather be the torturer than the people chained to the wall. And thats as far as their thinking on the matter goes.

aev_software@programming.dev · 20 pts · 181d

oh yes, by all means, own us libs by voting more nazi. Surely that will change our minds.

Sgt_choke_n_stroke@lemmy.world · 19 pts · 181d (33 replies)

This kind of doomer speak is like a psyop to demoralize people from voting. Republicans didn't get fascist overnight

anotherspinelessdem@lemmy.ml · 23 pts · 181d (1 reply)

No, they got fascist by doing evil shit unopposed.

Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 180d

Hanging from the wall in chains isn't opposition.

baines@lemmy.cafe · 23 pts · 181d

Republicans didn't get fascist overnight

you’re right, it was 85 years long

theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 21 pts · 181d (5 replies)

Its not "doomer" to point out you can't "reform" a system meant to benefit elites and you need to build a different system entirely.

Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 180d (3 replies)

It quite literally is. They've convinced you they are too powerful. You've already lost.

theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 180d

The system is built and functions literally to protect and enforce the status quo and the private property; revolution and societal reconstruction is necessary if you want to build something with a different purpose.

BanMe@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 180d (1 reply)

And not a single person in this thread has a suggestion on how to move forward, just complaints that the system is irretrievably broken. Well shit, let's all crawl into a hole and die.

Criticism is only useful when paired with suggestions on how to fix. Otherwise it's griping at best.

Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 0 pts · 180d

Yep. Us fighting amongst ourselves is only to their benefit.

It's a game I avoid playing so whole I may mock those who try but endeavor to never engage with anyone that does it. Best I can hope for is to get someone to self evaluate.

Serinus@lemmy.world · -2 pts · 180d

Maybe one that benefits China and Russia more, amirite?

NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io · 7 pts · 180d (4 replies)

Um sorry to tell you this but the OG Nazis were inspired by bipartisan American policy. If anything y'all should thank your lucky stars FDR did something before you went full Heil Hitler; this was long overdue.

Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 180d (3 replies)

This is such a weird twisted way to blame America for Nazis. They looked at how America maintained a system of racism and discrimination in its legal system.

The isn't fascism, that stuff started in Italy.

It's really hard to take leftists as anything but extremists when you all use the same historical revisionism that every extremist group uses to create their in group.

Replacing one dogmatic system with a different dogmatic system is a hard sell.

NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io · 4 pts · 180d

They looked at how America maintained a system of racism and discrimination in its legal system.

It was... uh... a lot more than that. America didn't go fascist because their ruling class compromised during the Great Depression, but they did have all the pieces of fascism.

Wait, do folks earnestly believe you can vote fascism away‽
What ahistorical fantasy do you believe‽

Sgt_choke_n_stroke@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 180d (17 replies)

What do you want to do? Riot? Storm the capital?

You dont want to vote fine. Pick up a gun and start taking care of ice cops like a marvel character. Good luck

AntiBullyRanger@ani.social · 3 pts · 180d (16 replies)

What Spain, Italy, And now South Korea, Nepal, Thailand, Myanmar did: They’ve had enough, and let nobody else die for their loved ones: something that it seems Americans believe is fiction now. Operation Paperclip really brainwashed you, huh.
Max Eisenhardt on fascism

Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 180d (11 replies)

America has done really bad things. Bringing up Paperclip is weird. A bunch of nazi scientists were moved out of Germany. And?

Von Braun used slave labor. He should have stood trial. That's brainwashing?

AntiBullyRanger@ani.social · 0 pts · 180d (10 replies)

And got into schools, indoctrinated children, taught them to be powerless at the face of fascist rise in 🇺🇲. We are seeing today the fruits of those Nazi seeds planted being harvested. You either enjoy the Nazi cake being served to you by your führer, or you actually liberate comrades right now being killed in deathcamps.

There’s no trial coming for the participants of fascist violations. There never has been.

Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 180d (9 replies)

1600 scientists out of 139 Million Americans is what made America fascist? Come on. America had 10,000 members of the American Nazi party before WW2. Not to mention that not all of those scientists were die hard Nazis just like all American scientists aren't MAGA.

AntiBullyRanger@ani.social · 1 pts · 179d

So Nazis praxis doesn't exist in the 🇺🇲?

Sgt_choke_n_stroke@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 180d (3 replies)

Pick up your gun and go stop shit posting on this platform I'm not stopping you

AntiBullyRanger@ani.social · 1 pts · 180d (2 replies)

We call this type of reply “Compliance.”

But you never believed in freedom.

Sgt_choke_n_stroke@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 180d (1 reply)

Yea I'm getting a lecture for a purity test from a guy with an anime profile pic.

I guess leftist infighting is a real thing

AntiBullyRanger@ani.social · 2 pts · 180d

You're the one ad hominem acts of coalition.

Is there really a reason you're allergic to demolition deathcamps?

itsaphoque@moist.catsweat.com · 13 pts · 181d

You know, getting better sharpening stones ensures a less painful death. It's a victory in itself, when you think about it smug-explain

Dadifer@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 181d

The problem is the MAGAts did it to the Republican party, so now we think we can do it to Democrats.
