I went to a steakhouse popular here in my area in California and they served my ribeye steak with fucking ranch all over it. I was appalled. I sent it back obviously but what the actual fuck? I learned when I moved here that they put ranch on almost everything, but fucking steak?? Ridiculous.
That sounds like either Barstow or Yreka. Those are the only 2 places in the state I can think of that would put ranch on a steak. Unless it's the trendy looking shack on PCH just north of Malibu that has discovered flavors but has not discovered taste.
there used to be (the ones up by you and me closed. closest one is down in clovis now and i'm not driving that far for steak) a nice local steak chain that grilled their steaks over almond wood. honestly my favorite part was smelling the almond off the meat and how the nuttiness of the wood and the savoriness of the haem blended... i miss them. and now i need to get some almond wood
This is the right call. They've got a "harvest veggie burger" that's primarily chickpeas and cheese so not appropriate for vegans and it's pretty mid. Skip the cheese puck, go for the curds.
It's good, but it's so expensive. One opened up in my town in Florida and I went and got 2 burgers, fries, and 2 sodas. That shit was 60 bucks for basically two meals at any normal fast food restaurant. It's definitely on par or better than Whattaburger and In and Out but is it 60 dollars good? I didn't think so.
Culver's is quite good if you consider it high end fast food (fast casual or whatever the fuck those industry goons call it) and now that every fast food restaurant costs way too much you might as well get good food that's not been pre-prepared
Also during Lent you can get walleye from Culver's
Because the guys in both pics weren't even born when you graduated high school? Ah, who am I kidding? You didn't graduate high school. You were sent straight to the mines at 12.
The northwest territories were north and west of the original thirteen colonies, more or less. They are not more north east of the country as a whole, because westward expansion continued.
God damn, I have to respect the shit out of you. I don't think anyone else in the world would agree with that monstrosity opinion, you just might be an eldritch god feasting in the pain you inflict saying that XD
That is one thing I will say about Culver's, is the quality can very wildly from franchise to franchise. Craig Culver ran a really tight ship but things have slipped a lot at some of the franchises since he retired

Snitched on who? Luigi Mangione was with me the whole time playing Mario Kart.

I got to have a pot roast sammich there a few days ago for the first time in forever. Heavenly!

I like Culver's, ranch can fuck off though.

Yeah, ranch on steak is sacrilege.

It's actually near Sacramento.
HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 163d
Oh no. I think I know the place on the way to placerville. I'll make some protest signs and meet you there in an hour?

Let's fucking go

Ooh that sounds good. It is hard to find decent steaks here in Cali that aren't outrageously priced.
TheDemonBuer@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 164d
I've never been to Culver's. Is it any good?
Godric@lemmy.world · 30 pts · 164d
Best fast food in the nation.
Get a Butterburger, it's the iconic entre. Pot Roast sandwich is delicious, but the Butterburger is iconic.
Get a side of cheese curds, with some honey mustard. You'll thank me.
Finish it off with a Concrete Mixer. Butterfinger+Heath is my go-to. Enjoy the frozen custard heaven.
At your next checkup, lie to your doctor about where you've been eating the last few months. It's so damn delicious.

The first curderburger I had like 2 years ago was amazing, the following year it was trash.

TheDemonBuer@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 164d
Yeah.
VerilyFemme@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 12 pts · 164d
Then it's the best.
Honestly, you should drop your dinner plans and go.
Two words: Butter. Burger.

Do they have meatless options for the vegetarian interested in a heart attack?

Frozen custard and fried cheese curds.

I'm drinking my dinner plans right now. But I drive by a Culver's all the time. I'll definitely stop in someday soon and give it a try.
VerilyFemme@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 164d
Hell yeah. They do a phenomenal fish plate too, if you like that.

As far as fast food goes, id put them above most "fast casual" places. They're pretty good.
I like the pork loin sandwich (almost nobody makes those and they're fantastic)
Broadfern@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 164d
Their cheese curds are god tier for fast food. Their ice cream mixers are also very good.

Is it true that the US northwest is actually in the northeast?
jambudz@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 162d
Midwest, not northwest. The northwest is Oregon and Washington
Godric@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 163d
Yes, which is a pretty interesting holdover due to US's territorial evolution!

I went to a Culver's once and ordered a chicken sandwich. Got a boiled woody chicken patty that was still wet. Haven't been since.
Godric@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 164d
Why chicken? I don't go to KFC and get the burger

Cheese Curds
Concrete mixer with your candy of choice
Get the holy trinity and report back, I'll apologize if I'm steering you wrong.
