You really think they’d leave peacefully if they were impeached? At best we’d force their hand early since I think whether through ignoring the Constitution and running for a third term or straight up declaring dictator for life, that’s what’s coming in a couple of years.
Perhaps not but maybe that kind of thing should be considered by a lot more people at election time, especially when warning was given and a trial run to be had.

My dad's a historian. When I was younger he had WWII memorabilia, including a Nazi armband. One of my classmates who came over asked if my dad was a Nazi when he saw it. He also had a picture of Hitler at one point. I think my mom made him get rid of that stuff.
