Back in the day the world had The Great Dictator speech speaking the truth. Then came Network with the I am mad as hell. In this era what speech are we going to look back from the future?
I hate this mindset. Humanity is definitely not a virus. There’s so many tribes and small farmers and fishermen who respect nature and live with it in harmony.
Assholes and the super wealthy are the viruses.

It's a partial truth. It's what makes storytelling villains great. If they didn't have an ostensibly plausible reason for being evil, villainy looks cheap and painted on. What is Thanos without his half-truth sustainability philosophy and ethics? What is Smith without this speech?
I’m jealous of you. You’re one of the lucky ten thousand today. Andor is a Star Wars property, but it’s an adult look at fascism and building a rebellion against it. One of the top ten series of the 2020’s really amazing writing.
I mean, you could have either looked it up or assumed that people talking about something know more about it than you when you don't know anything about it.
I'm jumping on the dog pile to tell you to watch Andor. I am NOT a Star Wars guy but I got talked into this one by a friend who knows my general distaste for the franchise.
It's fantastic, I really have nothing bad to say about it. It's not campy like Star Wars, it doesn't feel rushed, and the stakes a lot more visceral.
The only terminal goal that corporations have is to make money. As much of it as possible.
Production of Andor was greenlit with the assumption that investing money in it would result in a positive ROI. Nothing more, nothing less. The same applies to them funding the fascist admin.

There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. I know this already. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy.
Remember this, Freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy. There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they’ve already enlisted in the cause.
Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.
And remember this: the Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.
Remember that. And know this, the day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of the Empires’s authority and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege.

Now I only have the vague memory of it and the impression it left on me.
