AntEater@discuss.tchncs.de · 3 pts · 135d

As a 30+ year Slackware user, I'm unimpressed.

"No I meant does anyone want to say a kind word?"

"You should use Linux too."

1995ToyotaCorolla@lemmy.world · 44 pts · 135d (1 reply)

exasperated "Does anyone want to say a word about the recently deceased?"

"It's a shame he didn't get to try Linux"

Pman@lemmy.org · 17 pts · 135d

exhausted sigh "does anyone have anything to say that isn't about Linux?"

"Microslop windows is trash, a waste of resources, poorly optimized, and spies on you."

DmMacniel@feddit.org · 40 pts · 135d (6 replies)

Yeah I would like to say a word.

Plethora.

wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz · 9 pts · 135d

Which wench operates which winch when the winch wench witch's winch wrench won't fix the rent worm winch?

Engywuck@lemmy.zip · 18 pts · 135d

TheAgeOfSuperboredom@lemmy.ca · 14 pts · 135d

GNU/Linux

one_old_coder@piefed.social · 12 pts · 135d (1 reply)

You should compress it way more, we still can see the pixels.

Sonotsugipaa@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 134d

Interestingly, after 50 iterations of magick img.webp -quality 1 img.webp, "I use Linux" is just as readable as before

CaptainSpaceman@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 135d

"Im sorry for your loss. Move on."

ivanafterall@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 135d

"That's completely inappropriate! Which distro, asshole!?"

binarytobis@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 135d

I just realized I’ve become that guy six months into switching from Windows. I want to save even one person, but I’m probably just annoying people atm.

nixigaj@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 134d

My approach with introducing friends to Linux on their laptops is to tell them to buy a new SSD double the size of the current one. Then i mirror their windows install and recovery and EFI to the beginning of the new SSD and then install Linux to the second half making sure that Linux get its own EFI partition and does not use Windows so that the TPM setups does not interfere with each other. Then they dont need to change anything on their Windows install, and they can also teporarily bail to Windows when something breaks/doesnt work and ask me later how to fix it.

Me at my job that uses windows. Everyone's convinced Linux is some impossible learning curve. They should know if I can get over that curve then most people can lol I'm not the brightest
