literally

theacharnian@lemmy.ca · 197 pts · 107d (12 replies)

I was reticent to post this, given that it's based off of one person's hearsay. What tipped me over is that it is confirmation of stories also relayed by Palestinian prisoners in the fall of 2025 (linked in the article) about the goings on in the Sde Teiman torture camp.

Al-Jazeera by the way reports that the IDF soldiers who were at the center of a very public case of gruesome sexual abuse of prisoners in the same torture camp are returning to duty.

End the genocidal Israeli apartheid regime. Boycott Divest Sanction. Criminals at the Hague.

Triumph@fedia.io · 57 pts · 107d (6 replies)

Thank you for the context. It's important.

AmidFuror@fedia.io · 4 pts · 107d (5 replies)

Yes, someone who could not possibly have heard the Palestinian allegations has come forward to say they are true.

Of the two guards he spoke to, “one had seen this happen and said it was too awful to talk about. The other said that he had heard about it from others and believed it was true. This happened. This is happening still. The evidence is too overwhelming.”

I wouldn't call this overwhelming evidence. Could it have happened? Painfully, yes. Should an article have been published that guards have admitted this happens? Not on this evidence.

brownsugga@lemmy.world · 24 pts · 107d (3 replies)

i think regardless of the veracity of the article, the fact that israel has a TORTURE CAMP is something that should be highlighted

AmidFuror@fedia.io · -5 pts · 107d (2 replies)

I don't think that's the official name.

theacharnian@lemmy.ca · 8 pts · 107d

That would be funny.

Fuckin lol

The rules of courtroom evidence cannot be the rules for journalism, or we would NEVER hear about atrocities like this.

That’s not a credible human rights organization. HRW or Amnesty are credible.

theacharnian@lemmy.ca · 13 pts · 106d (2 replies)

Who says they are not a credible organization?

DaMummy@hilariouschaos.com · 1 pts · 105d

The dog owners.

bestboyfriendintheworld@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 93d

They don’t even pretend to be objective. Compare their reports with ones written by HRW or AI and you will see for yourself how they operate.

Their reports on other countries in the region are comparatively sparse.

M0oP0o@mander.xyz · 47 pts · 107d (3 replies)

What the dog doin'?

War crimes apparently, the type of man made horrors beyond most human's comprehension. I don't get how we have such a large delta with the horrors preformed by israel and the coverage of the nation in the west. Being called anti-Semitic for calling out using dog rape as a tool to torture prisoners seems a bit bizarre.

AmidFuror@fedia.io · -33 pts · 106d (2 replies)

People used to call those who spreads news of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion anti-Semitic as well. All those people were doing was calling out consuming the blood of kidnapped Christian children. How can you be for the murder of those innocent Christian kids?

Western "civilization" reaction to Israel and Russia are amazing. If this were Russian we will see these war crimes in every media 24h , while with Israel, you get arrested or questioned for denouncing the crimes.

"Source I've never seen claims someone on Twitter heard something outrageous from an anonymous source"

Did this happen? Maybe. Is this upvoted solely because of people's pre-existing biases? Yup.

crapwittyname@feddit.uk · 16 pts · 106d (4 replies)

One source appears to be the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights. It says in the article.

bestboyfriendintheworld@sh.itjust.works · 0 pts · 106d (1 reply)

Where did they get the information from?

Obscure self styled human rights organizations are often used to launder information and give it more credibility. This isn’t HRW, Amnesty, or B’Tselem. They aren’t perfect either, but more credible.

crapwittyname@feddit.uk · 6 pts · 106d

They got the information from someone who was raped by a dog. It says in the article.

CanadaPlus@futurology.today · -5 pts · 106d (1 reply)

The analyst in "says analyst" was a guy on Twitter.

It is mentioned that PCHR recorded similar testimony from a Palestinian source later on.

Again, maybe, maybe not.

crapwittyname@feddit.uk · 7 pts · 106d

"geopolitical expert" it says. Here's his Google scholar page. Seems legit. I mean I guess he is still "a guy on twitter", in that he has a Twitter account

FlyingCircus@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 106d (6 replies)

Novara Media is a socialist news organization, so they definitely have a bias, but their informational reporting is no less credible than the BBC or Guardian. They have a decently large presence in the UK.

CanadaPlus@futurology.today · -8 pts · 106d (5 replies)

X to doubt.

FlyingCircus@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 106d (3 replies)

Why would their factual reporting not be reliable? Their core audience is extremely well educated who would not tolerate blatant falsehoods like right-wing tabloid audiences do.

CanadaPlus@futurology.today · -8 pts · 106d (2 replies)

And yet, everybody smashed upvote on this rage bait without reading it. Education and wealth only gets you so far.

TBF they didn't really make direct factual claims here, they just quoted the sources, so even if it's not true it's not a lie. I'm not sure how often Fox News just straight up lies either.

FlyingCircus@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 105d

Fox News lies often. And the BBC does this kind of thing all the time.

crapwittyname@feddit.uk · 5 pts · 106d

You're wrong. I've been reading/listening to Novara every day for over five years. They are left wing in opinion, and 100% factual in their reporting. They are more responsible about correcting errors than the BBC or the Guardian. As the other response, I would have ditched them at any point if I found them to be dishonest.

AmidFuror@fedia.io · 6 pts · 106d

Ragebait works on everyone. You just need to know what buttons to push.

MousePotatoDoesStuff@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 106d

Honestly, I hope this one is fake. It's fucked up if real.

ZombiFrancis@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 105d (1 reply)

I can offer up a story on it from a British Business magazine, if the Novara source seems biased or uncredible.

How can you take part in subjecting other people to this kind of thing and still think you are justified in doing it? People that almost certainly had nothing to do personally with what your beef is with the more extreme members of their factions. They also can't think that this serves any point other than to be sadistic, if your goal was complete annihilation you would just shoot them.

I mean, holy fuck.

kreskin@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 102d

They dont see them as equal humans-- its just "livestock" raping "livestock". They think the same of most everyone else including their "allies"-- its not just racism against Palestinians. They are supremacists, and they feel they are far above all the humans across the entire world. Their god revealed himself only to them because everyone else was inferior and unworthy.

Somehow this is still a taboo topic, but Israel doesnt acknowledge universal human rights for anyone. According to Jewish teachings there are goy and Jews, thats it. Its binary.

Scams are widespread, especially on social media.

There’s also a long tradition of smaller organizations collecting money for Palestinian children, and then the money is funneled to Hamas.

If you want to donate, great, but be careful where you send your money. There are legitimate aid organizations as well.

Cadus does fantastic work in Gaza, Ukraine, and elsewhere. They don’t have such a huge overhead of promoters and admin like other organizations.

The horrors you commit in service of God. I know not what I believe as far as theology goes, but if there is any sort of benevolent god or gods, these people are going to face the worst punishment they have. If there are no gods, may this world give them the punishment they deserve, as unlikely as that may be. Organized religion is the worst thing to ever befall humanity, and it may wind up being the end of us someday. These actions would have made even most Nazis skittish.

Jankatarch@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 105d (2 replies)

Ngl I am pretty disilluisoned with the whole "Both sides are fighting for religious reasons" thing.

Israel is fighting because zionists are colonizer nazis and palestine is fighting because Israel is colonizer nazis.

Doomsider@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 105d

This is a story told to us. The reality is religion has very little bearing on geopolitics, genocide and modern warfare. It is often used to demonize a group (think Muslim terrorists) and to rally people to a side without questioning why.

Religion isn't the cause, it is just another convenient excuse.

northface@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 105d

I completely agree, but I don't see where GP would imply Palestine is fighting for religious reasons.

What mod actions are you referring to?

Domino@quokk.au · 20 pts · 107d

Presumably the Lemmy.world mods who have been criticised for silencing pro-Palestinian voices and pushing pro-Israeli messaging since October 2023.

Well known Zionists such as JordanLund and Gedaliyah who operate world and news. Backed by an admin team who have come to defend them at every criticism and taken only tokenistic action against them to ease public anger.

Search their names on YPTB, their histories are well documented.

It's based on one user interviewing another user who said it definitely happened. It was corroborated by a third user who said he had heard from others that it happens.

SippyCup@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 107d

Can confirm. I heard it from a user who heard it from another guy who said he saw it online.
