That’s his secret. He’s always a decent person.

Cowards.

Beneficiaries

Cowardly beneficiaries. Just like 95% of the US.

How do you convince the winning Monopoly players to stop playing Monopoly and move us onto another game?

A question for the ages.

sudo@lemmy.today · 44 pts · 133d (2 replies)

Guillotines.

systemglitch@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 133d (1 reply)

Overdue.

stringere@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 132d

I don't think library fines are gonna work here.

ruuster13@lemmy.zip · 13 pts · 133d

You can't convince them. But they eventually get bored and move on to another game... that they pick... called Risk.

Watermark710@piefed.social · 6 pts · 133d

You gotta flip the board. Throw all the pieces on the floor. Ban the banker from your table. Put the houses and hotels in the microwave so they melt into an indistinguishable mass. Redefine "rent" and "ownership". Then start the game over from turn 0, and make the rules more fair in general.

But we're not ready for that yet.

arrow74@lemmy.zip · 4 pts · 133d

Risk

Sharkticon@lemmy.zip · 40 pts · 133d

That's exactly why it's in their interest to oppose the merger. The fewer companies that own Studios the more likely is that you'll be blacklisted or not hired for whatever Ticky tack reasons they can think of

Well, then, Universal gets all the big stars then. Or, they start their own studio with blackjack and hookers. The studios need the talent more than the talent needs the studios, the talent needs to realize that and work together.

My personal experience going all the way back to elementary school is that there’s always somebody in the group who’s willing to fuck over everybody else for their own gain.

Given that we are talking about a group of people well known for their egos I imagine that this is a fairly uphill battle.

With AI on the horizon I'm not sure that last sentence will hold up for much longer.

architect@thelemmy.club · 1 pts · 133d

Much deserved, too. If you sign on to shit scripts and give meh performances for marvel expect to be replaced by AI. Not sure what the fuck some of them expected.

Same with writers writing slop for these corps. What the fuck did you expect to happen?!

architect@thelemmy.club · 1 pts · 133d

Let’s blacklist any star that is too afraid to do the right thing.

I haven’t seen anything made by these people in a decade worth looking at. Let alone pay for.

rozodru@piefed.world · 12 pts · 133d

you're going to get blacklisted regardless. Studios WILL start using AI actors until the audience stops consuming and then pivot to something else. The problem is we're a vocal minority that says no to this shit while the vast majority either simply don't care or just aren't informed or find it all really cool.

probably a bad example but I used to be a fan of Leo Laporte. the guy taught me pretty much everything I know about computers and what have you. I grew up watching him on the screen savers and call for help. I subscribe to his podcast network TWiT. but now? he drank so much of the LLM kool-aid that I just can't respect what he says anymore. and you see it with the rest of his audience, they've turned on him and he simply doesn't care. he'll keep praising Claude Code until he's dead in the ground.

I already liked Mark, (I just did a guilty rewatch of 13 Going on 30) but now I'm a die-hard.

Watch him with Mehdi on Zeteo. He’s a real one.

Good man. At least the guy is doing something

Bloomcole@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 133d

As he did for Palestine.
Unlike most of the Hollywood cowards.
Plenty of them signed the pro-genocide letter

Shindo66@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 133d (1 reply)

So.... we'll probably never hear from him again? In 8 years, someone might say in passing, "what ever happened to mark ruffalo?"

I vow to pay actual money to see one movie from any actor who signs the open letter.

Because it will. Ask Jane Fonda.

And Brendan Fraser.

Actors dont get million dollar sallaries for nothing. They are supposed to lick the cogs of the machine.

SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 133d (1 reply)

Because they will?

architect@thelemmy.club · 10 pts · 133d

I don’t really see why we should care, though? If they won’t stand up, when they have plenty already, then who will?

Let them blacklist you. Holy fuck movies were better with small budgets and studios, anyways. There’s not a single star worth any of this madness.

sheetzoos@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 132d

Imagine having enough money to be set for life and still being too spineless to exercise an ounce of integrity.

Good on Ruffalo for doing the right thing.

libre_warrior@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 133d

that sounds like coglickery

Hollywood actors are nothing if not cowards these days. They pander to their fans harder than politicians on election day.
