Where he's going, he won't need eyes to see...

Damn this is a shock to me. RIP to a fantastic actor.

Oh damn, dark reference. Well done.

Tbh I didn't really think about the implications of the quote, just that it's a good quote from one of my favorite Sam Neill movies, and seemed like a decent "epitaph" kinda thing I guess.

But yes very dark reference lol.

star of two of my favourite movies of all time, Jurassic Park and the Warhammer 40K prequel (it is, admit it) Event Horizon.

The Emperor Protects, Sam.

FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 40d

Sam made some bangers, for sure. Event Horizon was terrifying.

Zahille7@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 39d (2 replies)

Event Horizon is my favorite sci-fi/horror movie.

return2ozma@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 39d (1 reply)

So this is what my grandmother was talking about when she said getting old was watching beloved friends and actors pass away.

If it helps, I can tell you stuff about Chuck Norris that'll make you not like him anymore.

The only way Chuck Norris could die is if they cloned him and the clone roundhouse kicked him in the face. So that must've happened.

Big trees. Big silence.

The old bush man got real quiet.

Nobody said skux.

Wow, what a shock, he made COVID fun during lockdown.

We just rewatched The Dish and drank a glass to both Sam and Tom.

The last time we watched, it was projected onto a bedsheet hanging off the back of my delivery van at Aileron Roadhouse in the middle of Australia surrounded by optical telescopes, a 2m portable broadband vSat dish, with the Sungroper solar car team during the 2003 World Solar Challenge .. vying for the most remote internet cafe .. we lost out to Mount Everest 😁

First flick I saw him in was "Dead Calm" with Nicole Kidman and Billy Zane. Such a nailbiter!

sounds like remission, but it likely did lasting damage.

biofaust@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 39d

Celebrate him by watching Possession.

As I drove around town today it was really touching to see all the flags lowered to half mast in his honor.
