Graduate degree

Someonelol@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 65 pts · 38d (6 replies)

Graduate degrees just prove someone is very knowledgeable about one specific field of study. Nobody said they couldn't be idiots over anything else.

piconaut@lemmy.ca · 10 pts · 38d

Unfortunately you're right. Maybe I'm deluding myself but I like to believe that higher education strives to be at least somewhat well rounded. I don't know what the programs are like everywhere but in my undergrad as a science major I also had to take courses from various disciplines(English composition, anthropology, philosophy, art, history, etc).

k0e3@lemmy.ca · 8 pts · 37d

Graduated... To a certain degree.

Flames5123@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 37d (2 replies)

You still have to take general credits though.

kurwa@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 37d

You know how easy that shit is?

BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 37d

You can fix all that in the disiplines

diaphragmwp@discuss.tchncs.de · 2 pts · 37d

And not always, even

lugal@sopuli.xyz · 23 pts · 38d (2 replies)

It also says "Hindu" so English might be their second language

ToiletFlushShowerScream@piefed.world · 10 pts · 37d (1 reply)

Ok fine, you are probably right, and this explains it. But it was funnier before your logic.

Sequence5666@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 37d

naaah bro. A lot of people in India knows the meaning of communism, socialism and capitalism. Dating apps are cesspool of humanity, and terms of India, even worse.

Hindu is a religion, not a language. You can be educated while being a hindu.

Socialism is when you are social. The more social you are, the more socialism it is. If you are very social, you live in a commune

LovableSidekick@lemmy.world · 18 pts · 37d (3 replies)

To live in a commune you have to be communicable.

SkyezOpen@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 37d (2 replies)

I have things that are communicable if that counts.

Ding Ding Ding! Our judges will accept that answer!

This is praxis.

Socialish

turdas@suppo.fi · 36 pts · 38d (16 replies)

"extrovert with close friends" is just introvert

thethrilloftime69@feddit.online · 3 pts · 37d (15 replies)

Extroverts can't have close friends?

alapakala@quokk.au · 1 pts · 37d (14 replies)

What's your dunbar#?

thethrilloftime69@feddit.online · 2 pts · 37d (13 replies)

I had to Google this. Hmmmm well I'm planning a wedding rn and my invites are probably around 200 people. So I guess that.

alapakala@quokk.au · 0 pts · 37d (12 replies)

Can all 200 of these change your undergarments, clean you up, and carry you around?

’cause for me that's close relationships. Closer are intimate partners.

thethrilloftime69@feddit.online · 5 pts · 37d (11 replies)
alapakala@quokk.au · 0 pts · 37d (10 replies)

Yeah, what's your close friendship number?

Extroverts have a much wider pool they can easily get close to.

We are past talking about people you know.
How many of them can change adult diapers for you?

thethrilloftime69@feddit.online · 5 pts · 37d

Ok but you realize you used the term "Dunbar number" incorrectly?

But to answer your other question? Idk maybe 2-4 people

yermaw@sh.itjust.works · 30 pts · 37d (1 reply)

I wish I was that naive. Imagine how much less rage-inducing life would be. You could just vibe and get along.

mursejoy@lemmy.zip · 18 pts · 37d

There is a reason the happiest people are usually ignorant to their surroundings. Head in the sand works for a lot of people’s sanity.

D_C@sh.itjust.works · 21 pts · 37d (3 replies)

Am I being defensive or is that first question combative?

duckythescientist@sh.itjust.works · 18 pts · 37d (1 reply)

I read it as being maybe mildly combative but in a flirty way. But also conveying emotion over text is difficult, so I'd assume good intentions until unless given reason not to.

barnacul@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 37d

If you are sending this kind of thing as a first message on dating apps, you are probably getting ignored a lot

FundMECFS@piefed.zip · 2 pts · 37d

If you have lots of choice you can afford to vet strictly lol. I guess also if you’re used to people being arses you put up a bit of a wall before they pass the vibe check.

sharkteethsandwich@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 15 pts · 38d (1 reply)

I'm not a full on socialist, more of a socialite.

darkdemize@sh.itjust.works · 14 pts · 38d

That reminds me of one of my favorite Michael Scott quotes: "I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious."

sudo@programming.dev · 10 pts · 38d (1 reply)

You can not select "socialist" on bumble.

NounsTheVerb@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 5 pts · 37d

What you can choose depends on your country, for example in mine it's only "Moderate", "Liberal", and "Conservative", but I've seen polish people with "Leftist". Tbf I haven't seen explicit socialist

A404@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 9 pts · 37d (1 reply)

To be fair, when i first heard about socialism thats where my mind wandered too

tkohldesac@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 37d

Similarly, I was clearing out old, embarrassing emails from 20+ years ago and came across a conversation I had with a young woman I was trying to impress. She mentioned Scientology and how much it “just made sense” to her. I agreed, that was the only religion I could see myself following.

I'M A CAPITALIST

A404@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 5 pts · 37d

Do you like capitalising off of others? 🧐

aarch0x40@piefed.social · 7 pts · 38d

Why you gotta be so anti-socialist?!

LovableSidekick@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 37d

Botulism is when you are botular.

gigastasio@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 37d

I wouldn’t say I’m socialist. My brother isn’t very social, and I’m socialer than him, though not as social as my little sister. She’s really the socialist.

psycotica0@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 37d

You know, like a conversationalist! I converse, I'm social, what else would you call it? 😛
