Only half?

T00l_shed@lemmy.world · 45 pts · 28d (3 replies)

At least half of the us is completely ok with fascism, so it tracks

mrmisses@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 28d

I wonder which half? Could it be the side that licks the brown shirts boots? Hmm 🤔

Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 28d (1 reply)

The amount of people that voted for Trump is actually under a third of the elligable voting population.

WilloftheWest@feddit.uk · 4 pts · 28d

So even fewer were directly opposed to him on the single most important day in your electoral calendar? That’s an even stronger indictment.

homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 28d (1 reply)

It’s always half. Every question.

FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 28d

"Half of Americans think it's wrong to steal purses from old ladies"

kbobabob@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 28d

The other half voted Trump

newton@feddit.online · 1 pts · 28d (6 replies)

The other half of Americans do not have rational thinking skills

quick_snail@feddit.nl · 5 pts · 28d (3 replies)

No, it's not that bad.

Half of the other half have no opinion. And the other half of the other half don't have rational thinking skills.

newton@feddit.online · 1 pts · 28d (2 replies)

Youre the half, or the other half from the other half ?🤔

quick_snail@feddit.nl · 3 pts · 28d (1 reply)

Not sure why it's relevant, but I'm the first half. He's a war criminal, and the US has an obligation under international law and morally to extradite him to The Hague to stand trial for Genocide

newton@feddit.online · 1 pts · 28d

Dag bovenbuur, ik vind het nog zacht verwoord wat je over POTUS zegt.

Veroordeelde misdader, pedofiel beschermer, massammoordenaar ,landverrader ,etc ,zelf geen proces waard .

halcyoncmdr@piefed.social · 2 pts · 28d (1 reply)

Do not discount the effect that constant propaganda has on otherwise intelligent people. They've been being conditioned for decades.

newton@feddit.online · 1 pts · 28d

Do you mean brainwashed or wasted

ToiletFlushShowerScream@piefed.world · 43 pts · 28d

The article states that only 24 percent think he SHOULD NOT be arrested, which the title does not imply.

Even less percent believe Israel did NOT commit war crimes.

Of course this does not mirror the public sentiments of most of Americas elected officials.

MantisToboggon@lemmy.world · 33 pts · 28d (1 reply)

To be fair half of Americans think the other half of Americans should be arrested.

Septimaeus@infosec.pub · 7 pts · 28d

[Willy’s exaggerated brogue]: Damned Americans! They ruined America!

mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca · 16 pts · 28d (1 reply)

bro Trump is IN your country and you won't arrest him

FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 28d

He's got armed guards

kreskin@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 28d (3 replies)

Shameful that its just half.

nullspace@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 28d (2 replies)

The other half don't know who he is.

DupaCycki@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 27d

At least a third would support him even if they knew.

mlg@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 28d

Netanyahu literally showed up in congress and then berated the US government for not shoving more money into his genocide.

If that isn't a sign of a compromised government, I don't know what is lol.

Imagine if Xi Jinping suddenly pulled up to the senate as if he has any position in the US government.

AlecSadler@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 9 pts · 28d (1 reply)

Arrest too easy, just kill him.

kreskin@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 28d

Agreed, the US justice system was made to control the rabble. Its not at all functional when it comes to holding the powerful accountable. Arresting Netenyahu is pointless-- it will just lead to his immediate release.

sportsjorts@lemmy.zip · 9 pts · 28d (1 reply)

Fucking throw him in an ICE dentition center along will the entire DHS. Those places aren’t even fit for a Nazi. Should be perfect for those ghouls and put trump in there too!

quick_snail@feddit.nl · 3 pts · 28d

No. The US is no place for trying a war criminal. That's in The Netherlands.

Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca · 9 pts · 28d (3 replies)

Why don't you start with arresting war criminals and pedophiles in your own nation first?

Catoblepas@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 50 pts · 28d

I’m okay with arresting genociders in whatever order is most feasible.

BillyClark@piefed.social · 14 pts · 28d

Why not both?

aaa999@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 28d

literal stupid goomba fallacy

BeUnique@lemmy.zip · 6 pts · 28d

What about the top half? That's the only half that America seems to give a shit about.

unitedwithme@lemmy.today · 5 pts · 28d (3 replies)

At least half don't even know who that is, and the half of who do aren't informed enough to chime in.

FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 28d (2 replies)

I think most people are confused about who Netanyahu is, I keep seeing him incorrectly described as the president of Israel when he's actually the prime minister of Israel. The president of Israel is Isaac Herzog

unitedwithme@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 28d (1 reply)

Enlighten me, what's the Prime minister do then? Is that like a Catholic role (being minister?)? We don't have that in the US, but I know Canada and parts of Europe have them. I guess I've just never really paid attention to the role.

TrippaSnippa@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 28d

In Westminster parliamentary systems, the government has a cabinet of ministers responsible for different policy areas, similar to the US presidential cabinet. The leader of the cabinet ministers is the prime minister, the head of government. The closest US analogy would probably be a cross between speaker of the house and house majority leader (the role of the speaker of the house in Westminster parliaments is somewhat different - in Australia the Speaker is a member of the House of Representatives elected by the House, and is responsible for the operation of the house, but does not get to decide what legislation gets put to a vote. That's up to the governing party). The prime minister is supposed to be "first among equals", but in reality the PM is the leader of the party and is hence the boss. The PM also de-facto exercises executive power, since the Governor-General who legally holds executive power only acts on the advice of the prime minister.

samus12345@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 28d (1 reply)

He should be arrested, yes, but not by America. They're in cahoots with him.

quick_snail@feddit.nl · 2 pts · 28d

The purpose of his arrest is because there is a warrant out for his war crimes. To extradite him to the ICC, where he is a wanted criminal

Abyssian@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 28d (2 replies)

Half of Americans think the Hamburgler is real.

FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 28d

Half think the hamburgler should be locked up and the other half think he needs counselling

DupaCycki@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 27d

Half of Americans think the hamburger is an American invention.

FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 28d

Then half of Americans should band together and do it

quick_snail@feddit.nl · 3 pts · 28d (1 reply)

I bet there's a huge slice of that pie that have no opinion. So the ones that think he should not be arrested are probably very, very few.

Edit: it's 27%. Actually much higher than I expected. But that's roughly the same as the population of Trump supporters at its peak, so I guess it makes sense.

Soup@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 28d

It’s absolutely wild how many in the US and Canada are just completely politically ignorant.

borQue@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 28d (1 reply)

yep, half of the Americans think Berlin is the capital of Belgium too.

quick_snail@feddit.nl · 2 pts · 28d

I don't think that's true. Most US Americans probably don't even know one is a city and one is a country.

DanceMomsSavedMe@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 28d

Hopefully someone is practicing at the range.

Be a shame. Sure would be a shame...

orbituary@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 28d

49% of us think we're not divided.

wuffah@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 28d

Maybe after that we could politely ask him to stop convincing our stupid president to further embroil us in Middle East conflict.

nehal3m@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 28d (1 reply)

The leader of the country the US is fighting a war on behalf of? Yeah, right.

SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 28d

US set precedent of arresting politicians for war crimes? ...sure...

zr0@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 0 pts · 28d (1 reply)

Yeah and half of the US thinks otherwise and would vote Dictator Trump again.

Like what the fuck, only 50% agree? The US is so fucked up, from the bottom to the top.

But don’t worry, I am equally mad at the whole world, as also the EU is a complicit in the killings of Palestinians.

Bring. Back. The. Guillotine.

FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 28d

I'm angry there isn't a warrant out for Trump
