We've had indoor cats that keep trying to sneak out. Something that has worked great to convince them that it's a bad idea is to to use an air horn (not aimed at them, not close to them, just to make a sudden loud unfamiliar noise). Stand outside the door with the horn. Open the door and let them get curious. As soon as they set one paw outside the door frame, fire a quick blast. It's only taken doing it 2-3 times, and they all learned fast that it's scary out there.
I don't really like scaring them that way, but it's better than getting hit by a car, lost, or eaten by a predator.
I understand why you want to go out there, but it is scary and dangerous in all kinds of ways you don't know how to deal with. Trust your human and stay inside where it's safe unless they tell you otherwise.
Note to the owner: We got a pet stroller at a local thrift store. We take our cat on "walks" in it when we go out with the dogs. It has a fully enclosed mesh compartment that lets our cat see out without being able to run away.

I prefer to think of these cats as being more like Charlie Chaplin.

Going out is great. The best time to ask is at 3am

mine was rescued off the streets and still thinks she belongs there 2 years later.

We found her on the highway when she was 4 weeks old. It's been 6 years. This is a recent problem

I just go for walks with mine so I dont have to worry about her.
We both get fresh air. And if we see skunks or killer bees, we both run back inside. Well, I run back inside with her in tow.

We've been taking her on lil walkies lately. I guess she likes them more than she seems to

Why not open the door so she changes her mind?
