They like hierarchies and suck up to power. Once someone’s either a lame duck or out of office, there’s nothing to be gained from fawning over them anymore, so they drop the act.
Please consider retiring the "r" word. It's hurtful to the folks that term is used for, and there are so many other alternatives that don't cause harm. <3
I'm referring to those with cognitive and developmental disabilities, many of whom still have a medical diagnosis of "mental retardation". "Retard" is an epithet that comes directly from hate speech against those folks.
And it's unfair. My wife and I both have worked with that population. She taught her students Shakespeare. And lest you think they didn't learn - they clearly understood the material and discussed it intelligently.
They might learn many things more slowly than the rest of us humans, but the absolutely learn.
And they absolutely know the "R" word, and know it means them.
So when you use it, you are causing harm to innocents who do not deserve the hatred.
That's why I humbly request you consider different word choice.
Please don't play coy and pretend to misunderstand.
It's sort of amazing how many people literally voted against their own interests, and got what they voted for, and now they're upset. WTF did you actually want?
Just to bring everyone back down, I suspect "how many" isn't actually that high a number, it's just that these stories get disproportionate attention on sites like this.

Supporter becomes another casualty their leaders don't care about. If you elect cruel, vicious, uncaring people, they aren't just that way with the enemies they convinced you exist. That's who they are to everyone, including you.
