The bombastic former Breitbart News editor was apprehended in Louisiana at an airport, according to TMZ, but the circumstances behind his detention were not immediately clear.
The 41-year-old Brit served as an unpaid summer intern for former US Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in 2022, and worked on West’s stunt 2024 White House bid, serving as his director of political operations.
He famously arranged a sit-down dinner between President Trump and the “Heartless” rapper, which was also attended by white nationalist Nick Fuentes.

Hahahahahahaha fuck Milo. Fuck ICE. But Milo helped usher this shit in. Hope he has a bad time.

I feel bad for the other detainees, being near this guy should qualify them for some sort of torture based asylum

Looks like it's part of the revenge campaign against MTG's revolt and crusade to release the Epstein files. Milo worked closely with her, and according to this (poorly sourced) article, Laura Loomer recently reported him for being in the country illegally:
It's meant to strike fear into the fracturing GOP influencer base. Candance Owens is next on the list. Anyone else who worked for MTG is likely to become a target as well.
Evil always eats its own.

Somehow, my reporting both Musk and Melania never resulted in them getting taken in by ICE - this is discrimination!!!

Is there any precedent for fascists continuously narrowing the circle of who is acceptable and who is the precariat? And gradually turning on each other?

It's quicker than I thought though. I thought they'd go for the black republicans first, not the gay, white dudes. I thought they were more racist than homophobic, especially with Theil funding their evil.
arotrios@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 2d
It's mainly because Loomer made him a target, and he has no protection within the administration after MTG's revolt. Plus, it's a shot across the bow to Candance Owens, who isn't playing ball either, but she's got too big an audience to fuck with directly... for now.
I have a feeling that her days are numbered given that she's been attacking Israel and Jews in general for longer than Bibi has been indicted.

They always try to fuck each other over in their crabs-in-bucket way, either trying to con their way to the top or destroy each other on the way down.
x00z@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1d
We really don't have to do anything right. They'll just destroy each other.
arotrios@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1d
They will eventually, but they'll destroy everything weaker than them first.
The thing is that evil is a tactical decision - it ignores strategic goals for immediate gratification. Risk / reward calculations are predicated on short term solutions for immediate problems, and long term effects are ignored until they can't be anymore.
For this reason, evil societies don't work well - people are viewed as disposable resources to be spent to maintain short term gains, not as investments in the future collective wealth of the society. This means that social cohesion is based not on trust, but on fear - fear that someone higher up the chain will take what you have and discard you the moment you're not useful. This also means that to survive in such a society, you have to be willing to exploit those below you in the social hierarchy. There's no benefit in building things, because they'll just be consumed by those above you with little to no reward - it's more profitable to take from those beneath you.
This leads to infighting, backstabbing, and eventually the splintering of the evil society into warring factions while the infrastructure that supported the society collapses from neglect.
Good, on the other hand, is a strategic decision. By supporting the people around you, you are positioning yourself to be helped by them in the future. Good understands that a group of weak people can be powerful if they choose to unify and build a society together. Good doesn't eat its own because it understands that if one member of the group is suffering, the overall goals of the group are suffering. Good societies persist because they make the best strategic use of their most valuable resource - people - by empowering them to build a future.
Evil has no future. Just endless insatiable hunger and fear.

ICE is just trying to meet their insane daily arrest quota. They don't care whom the machine eats.
Triumph@fedia.io · 2 pts · 2d
"Who" is grammatically correct there, as the subject of the phrase. "Whom" is an object.
mkwt@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2d
No, the subject of the dependent clause is "the machine," which eats. Whom does the machine eat? The immigrants, of course!
Triumph@fedia.io · 1 pts · 1d
No, "the machine" is the object in that phrase.
idiomaddict@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 1d
Which party does the eating? That’s the subject.
Triumph@fedia.io · 1 pts · 1d
That's not how grammar works. Source: I used to diagram sentences for fun.
idiomaddict@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 1d
I’ve also diagrammed sentences for fun. I’m now a language teacher.
In the sentence, ”X is eaten by the machine,” X is in the subjective (what most languages call nominative, making “who” correct) and the patient, but the machine is the agent.
In the sentence, ”the machine eats X,” X is in the objective (often compared to accusative, but everything that isn’t subjective or possessive is objective in English) and the machine is both subjective and the agent.

That piece of shit got canceled for admitting being at a pedo party and covering for the people who were running said party. This was in the mid 2010's when pedophilia seemed way more shocking than it is now.

Now he gets to experience the injustice he helped bring upon others. I hope he gets the full treatment of a long uncomfortable incarceration, in a cold cell, maggoty food, drinking toilet water, getting deathly ill with no medical treatment, living with people who don't speak English, but will quickly discover that he helped build this system that has destroyed their lives and families.
He's going to have a great time. I hope it lasts.
