Now now, I think there are merits on both sides of this conflict, and if we can all come to the table and be rational I think we'll all agree that obviously waffles are the superior breakfast food LMAO get wrecked you syrup-dripping stack of flatjacks.

Love,
the waffle gang

The best waffle is better than the best pancake, but the median pancake is better than the median waffle. It's a complicated world out there.

Run off syrup is for dipping later!

LORDSMEGMA@sh.itjust.works · 14 pts · 2d (1 reply)

If syrup isnt flowing off your waffles you arent using enough

zip@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 6 pts · 2d

I wholeheartedly agree. You're gonna need a truly obnoxious amount of syrup on there. Slurping up the syrupy buttery soup with all the little bits of waffle left behind at the end is like the cherry on top of the whole waffle eating experience sundae.

Damn, I want waffles so badly now!

Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works · 13 pts · 2d

Listen, it's not my fault you poors have to ration your syrup so carefully that not a single drop can ever be allowed to spill. You could be eating the superior breakfast food but instead you're stuck with your dry, unfulfilling waffles, all because their shape holds your precious syrup. I can only imagine the resentment you all feel as I drench an entire plate in luscious maple goodness just to coat one bite of our soft, fluffy pancakes.

riwo@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 12 pts · 2d

oh so you hate pancakes then???

Nyadia@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 6 pts · 2d

Yeah, it flows off the pancake onto other pancakes, and onto the plate underneath. You can use the plate syrup to syrup up the remaining dry bits of the lower layers of pancake.

I'd like to enlist! :)

Holy shit that's a lotta pancakes. I don't have a dog in this fight so just sign my fat ass up for a stack that big of which ever one you got.

some_kind_of_guy@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2d (3 replies)

I'm seeing barely any mention of syrup quality in this thread. It should go without saying that real maple is a non-negotiable, but it also must be real maple syrup from Quebec, because it's superior!

Ehhhhhhh Vermont gang rise up. Canadian is good too tbh I wouldn't complain between the two.

But what is this "not real" maple syrup? I refuse to acknowledge the existence of maple flavored corn syrup, and also any Indiana Jones film after the first three.

some_kind_of_guy@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2d (1 reply)

Some imposters use the term "maple-flavored"

ArcaneSlime@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 2d

Nah that doesn't exist.

Waffle supremacy!!!

SEND_BUTTPLUG_PICS@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 2d

You have to lift up the edges of the bottom pancake so that the syrup runs under the pancakes.

I dont understand how people can put something really sweet on something sweet and eat it

I thought this was a post about economics for a moment

explodicle@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 2d

That's why you need the sharpest knives to cut along the dividers, preventing spills.

SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org · 1 pts · 2d

Man, I just don't like either. Like maybe one singular pancake with a small amount of syrup?
