The humans are likely following an algorithm of approximation too. If programmed correctly, the computer would be able to try way more approximations using the same algorithm the humans use, and hence likely find a better solution.

It is of course possible to program a computer badly, so you get worse outcomes than the existing human method. But that is kinda besides the point.

done manually with huge sheets of paper and rulers. Scheduling trains is a very hard problem

Just because it is a hard problem, it doesn't mean it is easier to do with paper and rulers than with algorithms. So the problem being "hard" should be unrelated to Sweden being behind the times.

Opposing would be free Malvinas or something like that.

The native population of the Falklands is arguably the British people living there. Who have clearly stated their preference to remain part of Britain. While Argentina's plan to displace and deport them, and replace them with Argentinians, is literally genocide and colonialism.

Respecting the native inhabitants' wishes is anti-colonialism.

Background: Firm Tied to Trump Donor Got No-Bid Contract to Clean Reflecting Pool and Reflecting Pool Contract Has ‘Inflated’ Profit Margin, Government Analysis Finds

So if you think $14 million is too much money for what is basically a paint job, you would be correct. Trump gave his buddy a no-bid contract at way too high a price. And it turns out they were incompetent too. Additionally, I would be surprised if Trump did not get a personal kickback from they $14 million in taxpayer dollars paid to the incompetent firm.

It’s that it’s only predicting the next token in a string of text.

An LLM has an internal state while predicting text. The "next token" chosen takes that state - a model of the world - into account. So a LLM is predicting the next token based on a world model and the previous text.

Saying that it is "only predicting the next token", without more context, while technically true is very misleading.
