I think you mean you are being a prescriptivist. In a descriptivist action, they added the new definition to Merriam Webster like 2 years ago. This is because they decided it makes sense to have a different and more useful definition of "racism" and "racial prejudice."

the purpose of refining the racism definition as "power + prejudice" was to move discourse away from the idea of being racist as a personal failing, and instead focus on structural oppression and the material reality of minority groups.

Basically liberal society largely seems to have conceived racism as 'being irrationally mean', but for people with a materialist anti-racist perspective, that definition isn't productive or insightful and the lack of material, tangible progress for black people post-civil rights made it clear that there needed to be more focus on power dynamics and historical context to combat racism.

I'd recomend Beverly Tatum's work , her perspective is very informed and compelling

This argument has been going on for 60 years, by historians and educators, black and white, who are much smarter than us... Here's a reddit comment I found that detailed the argument well (paraphrasing)

Beverly Tatum's work offers an informed and compelling perspective on the matter

Try reading the book, "Stolen Focus." That helped me A LOT. At the time, my attention span was so sapped I couldn't even read a book so I actually had to listen to it as an audio book. Lucky it's a very good audio book because the author's got a good speaking voice

This is why in many native cultures they stay away from being sarcastic. They've learned that it can be harmful to a society and they have the empathy to not want to make certain people who are out of the loop feel dumb

I wonder if he's actually showing them something else... 10x better than any truffle. Something marvelous, of which they are unaware the importance since they are not cats

Also with the most recent update, the halo collar app no longer has access to Google satellite data IF you operate Graphene OS. I suspect Google is the culprit because the folks at Halo have no idea how to fix this bug
