I would encourage you to look at why his arguments are considered ill-formed compared to conventional wisdom. If you want something funny to watch, Miniminuteman (who is an archeaologist) has a series reviewing Ancient apocalypse, for example, and I'm sure Professor Dave Explains has his own.

Unfortunately they're not shipping to the US because of tariffs right now, excepting what arrived before tariffs. Ask me how I know

I worked as a CAD guy for a cabinetry shop when I met 'Stewie' (still am, different place). Stewie was an old dog who started drafting when AutoCAD was in DOS, apparently wrote a lot of LISP routines and made lots of parametric blocks (blocks are a graphic you can copy paste that stretch or change based on options you pick).

Dude sure as hell wasn't able to demonstrate any of that capability, nor did he listen when we told him not to use it. Dude would write a routine that didn't work, then be shocked when after running it it broke the AutoCAD plug-in we use that has it's own database cuz it doesn't communicate it's changes to that database.

So we'd get broken drawings from this dude we have no idea how to correct, using something he took two hours to write to do something that the system already could do in 10 minutes, which necessitated redoing all of his work from scratch cuz parts wouldn't come out right. He'd then talk to you for TWO HOURS about his thought process writing it, what it should've done, how our plug-in was stupid, how it reminds him of his glory days, how he used to watch hockey in 1982, how he misses hockey, how did you know I saw the clearest ice ever at a hotel bar like two months ago?? How do they make the ice?? The government is putting flouride in the water, which is bad for you, just like lectins in tomatoes - they break holes in your gut lining and cause diabetes

The most miserable, self-absorbed, unempathetic, conspiracy-minded son of a bitch. I thank God I will never see stewie again

As someone who grew up in a nearby school district, absolutely checks out lmao

Having been a dumb kid growing up in bumrucksville, I'll add this too: Congnitive load.

You have to learn to cope with something new. Driving sucks, other drivers suck, you're telling me I have to drive in a two lane which could become one lane at any moment? I have to watch for faster pedestrians? "Isn't the sidewalk for bikes, why do they need the road??", then not realizing sidewalks aren't properly flat enoigh and mixing bikes with walkers on a 3ft wide space is as stupid as the rest of stroad design to mix pedestrians and cars.

Nah, sounds like too much work, bikers can drive like the rest of us, "keeps everyone safer" or whatever you wanna tell yourself without thinking further. Too much work to re-evaluate.

Frankly if it ever gets to the point I'm using it, I know I won't have a reason to use it at long range - I wouldn't shoot at someone in the middle of street, they'd have to both be a threat and at my door. I could never hit a target past 200 yards anyway. If you're in a confrontation with one person, neither of you need much ammo to resolve the situation. If you against multiple people, you'd be lucky to get a shot off before an entire armed group does. In short, if I need to fire, it will be at short range, and it needs to count.

I'd expect a pump-action would be easier to get operator error with, is there a specific semi-auto you'd suggest?

I'm thinking of buying a shotgun - despite having been in the national guard my capabilities and experience with guns is pretty limited. What can I get that can take the abuse of a newbie man-handling it and still be dependable in action?

Edit: Also, how do I know if I got the stock and general setup correct for comfortable use? Do this vary from weapon to weapon?
