This is a very typical Swiss thing, dare I say: this post is very typical of the Swiss-french... The swiss Germans would not have explained it in strangely written phrases on an over designed paper (trying to be elegant) the Germans would not have explained it at all and just charged you the money. Furthermore, I would expect both the Swiss-french and Swiss-german hotel attendants to be "politely hostile" and dismissive if asked to explain this "small" $30 charge
<smiling with the mouth and not the eyes; using words that seem like they're generated from a middle manager's chat gbt email that begins "as per my last request"... Passive aggressive to the max>.
Invest in your education first because nobody can take it from you.
Buy the crappiest reliable car you can stand to be seen in. (If you need a car at all)
Invest in a house as soon as you can. Buy the crappiest house in a nice neighborhood.
These have helped me treat a Depreciating asset (like a car) purely as a tool for utility and helped me recognize that a nice car is ego on display. For me it applied to computers and cameras too. I could definitely afford to drive a nicer car and I've learned to turn the pang of shame in parking my crappy old beater next to my BILs' hot cars into a trigger of self assurance: "I'm living by my internal values" ... "damn right!"
My wife cried as she destroyed 3 years of animal and human samples collected by her team of ~100 people in Africa through three major institutions. Each sample represented hundreds of man hours and... There was no funding. Her new job in Europe was starting (two months ago) and we had to leave - there was nobody to continue the work. She searched everywhere for ANYONE willing to analyze/finish the work and take first author. The cold reality was very very sad. There was no freezer space for work that nobody would continue.
In the coming decades she hopes to go back to discovering the mysteries that zoonotic diseases will help humanity unlock.
My cat brought one of these home when we lived in central America. I had no idea what it was, and I was terrified - I refused to believe the internet when they told me they were harmless and not venomous. It was a scary looking little alien.
The one pictured is much more open and spread out. Obviously getting carried in a cat's mouth would put a tiny little creature like this in defense mode - mine was much more compact and I didn't realize it was a spider / scorpion. Edit: the body was probably 3in/7cm long, a little shorter than credit card cut into an oval.

There's a famous meme about this in the WORCESTER MASS community... Titled basically "it wasn't a self portrait"
He looks like every central mass townie combined into one diner-dwelling chain-smoking semi famous illustrator.
Yes thank you - I have a second grader.
It's like a frustrated old lady in the church basement on a Friday night ... I can't get bingo. I can almost get bingo twice. But no luck.
Six fingers!
Yes, and Soivane Eparn is the top of the warning label on mine as well.

On the Internet?! C'mon get real! Next youre gonna tell me that picture of the woman touching her laptop screen and keyboard simultaneously is faked.
Thanks, but The explanation I'm here looking for is: "is that Messi? And if so: why/where?"
