So glad I outgrew GTA back in the early 00s. I get its an ultra-beloved franchise, but after playing I-IV when they were originally released, I realized the formula never really changed aside from the online multiplayer. The lengthy development cycle on these games also leads to dated tropes and cultural references once the release window hits. I remember dipping my toes into V just to see if it would grab me like IV did. Within the first 2 hours, I was eye rolling and groaning at the dialog and character personalities. Full reign crime spree just doesn't hit quite the same when you can just look outside your window for a comparable experience.
It won't solve the problem, but after a nearby skunk spraying, I found placing one dryer sheet in each of my hvac intakes (with the filter) freshens everything up for a few days.
There's no way anyone would have guessed from my basic-ass comment, but I've lived most of my life with trauma from childhood sexual abuse. And with fucking kids being en vogue worldwide at the moment, my triggers have been woooo boy. Sorry to shit on your duo, just differing perspectives.
Props for admitting he was wrong. A "fool," sure, but still feels kinda light on the self-disrespect for the content of some of their lyrics. I don't recall "going with the flow" to include pedophilia. Necrophilia, on the other hand, totally going with the flow.
You're correct. I've been to jail, and I have prescriptions for mental health. Your point, sir?
FTD, MAGArds, and the Gang of Pedophiles (GOP). If you support any of this nonsense, you're human garbage. It's that easy. If you don't support it, yet give someone shit for their comments about people who do support it, well...
This is a variation of something overused to the point of cliche, but... There's a table of 11 Nazis having dinner. They ask you to join them and you oblige. There are now 12 Nazis having dinner at the table.
I'm looking to transition to an educator role with the PhD. It would be a bump of maybe $20k-$25k. I never imagined making six figures, and I grew up in a fake rich family (crippling debt), so anything above $80k would be mind-blowing. The faculty position would require more "work," but it would probably be more rewarding.
I've been passively studying stoicism for the pest few years, and while some of the strategies meant for dealing with certain aspects of my psyche (like envisioning a stop sign when feeling triggered), others sound a bit too defeatist to me. Committing oneself to any singular concept is the fall of man, so I'll definitely look into Taoism after your recommendation. Thanks!
Thanks for the advice, and for insight on the job market.
Oddly enough, just did the math and ~60% spending power in 15 years alongside what I save up to that point might actually be doable. I have zero debt aside from the mortgage (costing significantly less than current avg rent costs), a car purchased outright new in 2024, all major household concerns addressed over past five years (new roof, new HVAC systems, new sump pump, renovated bathrooms, new 10x10 shed).
I believe I'm dying, but my doctor thinks otherwise. Clean bill of health with all milestone checklist procedures completed. Family life expectancy is the kinda average 68-74 (cancer, heart disease).
Of course the unknown and the $$$$ that requires, but otherwise, doable?
I'm always looking for new opportunities. Of the 15 years, I would be willing to sacrifice 5 to learn a trade of some sort, and then the remaining 10 (or more if I like the work or start my own business) working in that field. The unknown is just so f'n scary at my age. What happens when I follow my dreams (there are none) or pivot into a financial disaster of my own doing and end up struggling through poverty in my later years? My safety net is my savings. Not much of a net. No family remaining. Literally no friends. Transplant to this area 19 years ago and wound up alone after several absurd failures. Never took the time to make friends, since I believed my wife-not-wife's theory of not needing anything but each other. She loved adultery.
As it should!

tldr: Unpopular old guy opinion.
Might know I guy who will be stealing this idea.
Maga meat is deported immigrants. Sounds crazy, but wasn't long ago they were telling the world Ohioans were "eating the pets."
He's had to have eaten at least one child post rape, right? I mean, that's his modus operandi.
Also, never met a golfer I could tolerate for more than 20 seconds. Mini golf is where the real ones play.
Casting spells, or maybe that was just me.
Frederick Co VA top user has their information "redacted." Must be targeting minors (16-17 yr olds)

This was the one my mind immediately went to.

Despite never having a pet until Critter, Mr. Barker's closing sentiments to every show were enough for me to know the importance.
Anyone else notice a sudden uptick in guillotine related content over the past week or so?
Pretty old for a butterfly.
This will sound crazy, but I've found sitting up straight, back aligned with the seat helps reduce my time... grinding levels.
I think when they say "normalize" they actually mean enwhiten.
