Isn't DFW in the top 5 most populous areas of the United States? That map is basically just showing population density

Others are mentioning price per message, but also important to remember that in the 2000-2010s outside of the United States, when traveling from country to country, you usually had to get a local SIM card for a provider in that country, During your vacation, you'd have a new number for a month when no one could contact you over normal text messages which was a problem. WhatsApp became popular so you could keep chatting with friends abroad even if your phone's SIM card changed during your vacation.

Since most people from the United States don't travel outside the country, and vacation time is rather limited, this wasn't a problem for them, but for the rest of the world, a solution was needed that removed the cell carrier from the equation.

I only had one encounter with Be My Eyes of someone trying to classify their comic book collection by the year printed on the cover which was too small for them to read. It was pretty neat and I was happy to help, but it took way longer than 5 minutes, haha. I think though that with computer vision, a lot of the requests aren't routed to volunteers anymore though.

Manhattan was famously built with almost no alley ways to save space so the only place to put the garbage is on the street. You'll literally have piles of garbage and yet people won't want to give up a few parking spaces to put dumpsters in, so that garbage is all out on the sidewalk. It's disgusting.

It was kinda annoying that you had to fight for it. I can't imagine how many people who put down the game for a few years and checked up on it to find the Linux version is no longer supported and they're beyond the point to request a refund.

Are the cameras at 59th street actually Flock cameras (or similar), accessible by NYPD or just for congestion pricing and toll collection? In deflock, they all look like they're part of DOT but i'm not sure if NYPD has access. For most of northern Manhattan, it seems to be pretty standard for DOT to operate all the cameras, including all of Harlem.

All banks I've done business supported exporting CSV or OVX files of transactions so you don't need a third party connection into your bank account, although that is an option. It depends on region, but banks are only required to retain data for certain periods of time, and keeping a history of each transaction can be useful for budgeting or investing.

Regarding Mint, If I'm remembering correctly, it seemed like they were doing a redesign of the site and then decided to shut it down. I'd have to imagine after they got purchased, all the original devs left and maintaining each connection with each bank was a huge hassle. They probably spent so much modernizing the site and still had to maintain connections, that the operational costs outweighed the income from advertising.
