Back then yeah. I also had to ask for time off and often got denied.

I once got denied for time off to help a family member who was in the hospital who I was going to drive home.

I told them I'm not abandoning family and took off any way and got fired.

This was after I gave a months notice and marked my schedule unavailable.

I've also got fired for a similar situation but for a college final that I literally could not reschedule or miss.

Now I'm highly qualified and at a much better job. And I still, decades later, have a ton of anxiety about asking for off. And theyre like "if you need off, take off, why are you so worried about it?"

Honestly, I'd be a big brain move for him to parody Trump and announce his 2028 election run.

Then MAGA would either have to accept Obama, or state that they can't run for three terms. A response to which we can point to Trump.

I look for the least overpriced meal and I get that meal.

Often it's a sandwich, but sometimes it's a burger. It's still overpriced, but 200% overpriced is better than 500% overpriced and pretending to be bougie.

Or just require the AI to summarize and provide citations?

I started using Gemini, not because I like AI, but because Google search is next to useless now. Its pay to win.

I chose Gemini because it actually gives you the sources at the bottom of most queries it uses Google search to answer.

I don't trust its answers, because it often tries to give an answer instead of a summary. But I don't have to because I can go right to the sources it shares.

That explains so much.

The world is so depressing to me right now. I've retreated inward as a result focusing purely on myself and family.

Home projects and friends have been most of my free time.

Personally. I want an AI tag so I know to look more carefully.

I don't mind AI speeding up a skilled engineer.

But I do mind a crypto bro, turned AI bro, with little experience, too eagerly advertising their vibe coded app.

Its too exhausting to audit everything I may be interested in and the AI tag would help me to budget and optimize my time.

Pixel 8, stock rom.

I planned to get the Pixel 10 Pro but Google had to ruin a good thing and remove the NanoSIM slot only in the US.

I haven't been able to source an international one from anywhere so I'm just sticking with this until the Motorola Graphene phone launches.
