You're absolutely right- Bernie and I'm guessing most of his followers are social democrats. I seem to recall an interview where this came up and he basically shrugged the question off and said it didn't matter to him what ppl called it. As for these political terms, I think Americans are broadly illiterate.
Maybe it depends on the recipe. I'm all for rethinking them and going for a cleaner design. I'm also looking forward to the day that we migrate away from hillbilly units, so I don't have to search "xxx recipe metric".

I don't think enjoying the movie somehow supports eugenics. The premise is about the correlation between education level and demographic trends, which is a real thing. The reproduction rate is well-known to be correlated with women's education specifically. Regarding eugenics, historically, the issue there was forced eugenics. That's a much different thing.
I think it also depends on how hot it is, since anything more reflective (a white shirt) is also more insulating. So if it's just kind of hot out, black would probably be better.

Jason Hickel for instance is awesome. Listen to an interview or two of his and you might find that he has a talent for putting to words what we've all been thinking.

You'll likely notice that the stuff you buy, if even slightly more expensive, will be of much better quality. Imagine if jobs weren't tied to survival. Like, imagine people got paid for whatever they did. Raise a kid? Government sends you the wage. Community work? Fill out the wage application, describe what you did, wage. Work some job? Wage. Overpaid? Taxed more. Underpaid? Subsidised. Sat on your ass and charged other people rent? Jail.
Then consider what it would mean for ai to take over a bunch of jobs. More money into the pool to pay the wages of creative work, community work, and say UBI. Tech improvements would be celebrated. The economy would be democratised. We'd all benefit.
